Next to the living area is a kind of 'den' space under the stairs and right next to that is a small bright room which I use as my art studio. Most of the paintings in here are my originals.

We had a good time in San Miguel. The house was as described and on arrival I was met by Sofi, the maid, who had brought a light supper and some provisions to get me started. Our hosts had left a very nice welcoming note and a bottle of wine. The house is in a lovely quiet gated community and we felt very safe. The location is a steep walk up from the centre of town but the buses are frequent and follow a very handy bus route. The beds are comfortable and there is a good shower with lots of hot water. The living room furniture is quite comfortable and the kitchen quite well equipped with a very good stove and fridge. I like to cook so I could have used a couple of small pots with lids and sharper knives. The house is a bit chilly on cool winter days, as are most Mexican houses. This one is a little hard to heat because of the open design. We spent a lot of time in the small studio room with a heater in the doorway. The neighbours are vey friendly and so are the gate keepers and the gardener.
