Our guests describe our 1 bdrm apt. as welcoming, very clean and quiet. It has a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable queen-size bed, and a washer/dryer for your use. We are helpful and welcoming hosts and look forward to welcoming you to Vancouver.
Where we are: Our 1 bedroom, above ground, approximately 750 sq. ft. apartment with private entrance, is located on West 23rd Ave near the corner of Dunbar St. Dunbar is a quiet residential neighbourhood, a short drive, bike or bus ride from downtown, located near plenty of transit. We're 20 minutes from the airport. The apartment is within close walking distance of extensive parklands (University Endowment Lands), the University of British Columbia, and is nearby Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks. Restaurants, coffee shops, a large grocery store and cinema are also within a 10-minute walk. For guests with a vehicle, street parking is available in front of the residence, free-of-charge.
What we offer: The apartment is newly furnished, bright, with oak hard-wood floors, independent heat-control, a new queen-size bed with duvet and quality linens, a 42" HD TV, free high-speed wireless Internet, PVR, DVD player and an Ipod-Iphone dock with speakers.
The fully equipped kitchen comes with a full-size fridge with freezer, stove, dishwasher, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, wok, and basic condiments. Laundry services are available.
Who stays here: The apartment is ideal for singles or a couple on holidays, families of UBC students, those visiting patients in local hospitals, visiting professionals, or overflow for guests attending family events.
Guests will have access to a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer for the exclusive use of the guests, and a large screen TV.
Interaction with Guests
We are available to help guests with directions or information about things to do in the neighbourhood or the city. We try to welcome each guest, and ensure everything is working well for them. Then we are only a phone call or door knock away as we live in the other part of the house.
Quiet, friendly, free on street parking, not crowded. Walking distance to shops, movie theatre, large grocery store, and a longer walk to the beach and forested trails

1. We'd like to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. If we can help you in any way don't hesitate to ask. Call the cell phone number provided, or knock on our front door.
2. The apartment is self contained, but it is on the ground floor of our house. As such, we ask that you observe the following:
a) No pets and no smoking in the apartment.
b) No unregistered guests are permitted to stay overnight.
c) We ask that there be no more than 6 people in the apartment at any one time.
d) A refundable security deposit against damage or breakage of $200 CAD is required at check-in.
e) We don't provide daily room cleaning services but we will have a sufficient number of clean towels and bedding for your entire stay. Please leave dirty towels and linens in the hamper provided.
f) We ask that you leave the apartment in a tidy condition. A $40 cleaning fee will be charged if there are unwashed dishes, spills or excessive garbage or food scraps remaining. A garbage container will be provided outside the apartment.
g) Please limit noise after 11 pm.
h) A key(s) will be provided for the private entrance to the apartment. We ask that you return the key at the end of your stay, either by giving it to us directly or leaving it in the mail slot at the front of the house. A fee will be charged for unreturned keys.
Nous avons passé 3 nuits, l'appartement était exactement ce que nous avions besoin, encore mieux que ce que nous avions imaginé. Une bonne grandeur pour 2 personnes, situé du côté arrière d'une maison, propre, tout équipé, décoré avec goût, il ne manque rien. Même le frigo était garni avec les essentiels. Quartier résidentiel tranquille à proximité de tous les services. David a été d'une grande gentillesse. MERCI ! je recommande grandement cet appartement.
We spent 3 nights. the apartement was exactly what we needed, better than we expected. Perfect size for 2, clean, very well equiped, nicely decorated. Quiet neibourghood but close to everything. David was so kind and a pleasure to meet. THANK YOU !

We very much enjoyed our 12 days at David and Patti's apartment.
It's located in a quiet and pleasant neighborhood, with excellent bus service to downtown and walking distance from shops and a very nice beach. The apartment felt very homy and has all amenities one needs.
David and Patti are very respectful of your privacy and treat the apartment as your own. They are excellent hosts that make sure you have everything you need.
We would absolutely recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit Vancouver, especially if they'd prefer a peaceful place to stay.
The apartment is clean, modern and equipped with everything I needed. It is located in a wonderful neighborhood which is a short drive or a quick bike ride to some of the most beautiful beaches of Vancouver.
David & Patti are great hosts. David always responded very quickly to my questions, gave me a quick tour of the apartment and provided very helpful suggestions during my stay. I really enjoyed staying here.
The listing was more than accurate , the pictures don't do it justice. The place is spacious , clean and very well decorated .
It's in a very calm and safe neighborhood , blocks away from restaurants , grocery stores and everything you might need within walking distance.
What I loved the most about the neighborhood was the trees and the flowers blooming everywhere .. everything is green and stunning.
This was my first time in Vancouver , and staying in this apartment made the trip more enjoyable because after a long day of sightseeing all you need is calm, peace and relaxation .
I highly recommend this apartment and If I was to go back to Vancouver , I would stay there again.

David was super helpful in our pre-check-in communications. He provided several links to help me and my husband figure out where to go for fun and also places that can accommodate our dietary restrictions. I love that he stocked the fridge with food we can eat. The kitchen cupboards are also full of the regular staples.
We were crossing the border late in the day. David gave us an alternative route to get away from rush hour traffic. We are very thankful for the tip.
The apartment is exactly as described. It was a very pleasant stay. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. It's a huge contrast to the typical downtown action. After a full day of sightseeing, the apartment was a nice little retreat to rest up. The wifi works great. We didn't feel the need to turn on the TV. We would definitely come back again.

I stayed at David and Patti's place for the second time while attending a conference at UBC. It was great again, a wonderful location and space to relax and base to explore the peninsula. Highly recommend to anyone.
About the Host, David & Patti
Patti and David are long-time residents of Vancouver but didn't start out here. Patti hails from the centre of Canada (where it's a lot colder) and David spent his formative years in Dublin, Ireland. As seasoned travellers ourselves, we understand the importance of comfortable, safe and relaxing accommodations, and have tried to create such a space for our guests. Patti works in public relations in downtown Vancouver, a 15 minute drive away, and David is a marketing consultant working from a home office. We both enjoy being physically active, and chose to live in Dunbar because of its proximity to green space and local beaches. We look forward to welcoming you to our apartment and ensuring your experience is a great one.
