It's all about location, locaction or so they say. We particularly enjoy the climate (Mediterranean), views of Mount Tamalpais and the hills, the spacious outdoor garden and decks and the fact that San Francisco is so close via ferry, car and bus. We spent the Christmas holiday here as we have other family that lives nearby. It was the perfect house for my husband and I, and my older parents. House was spotless, cozy furniture, strong heater, pretty grounds, good kitchen for cooking. Comfy beds and sheets. There's a french press and espresso machine, just bring your own coffee, hair dryer (things that sometimes aren't noted that women like to know.) Would definitely stay here again.

One thing I really loved about Glyn's house is that it is really clean. He's got a wonderful cleaning team! It's located in a quiet, safe area - that meant a lot to me as well. We had a lovely time at Glyn's.

Glyn was a great host, nothing was too much trouble. Including organising a TV box for the downstairs TV as we had someone staying in the 'tv room'. Glyn was always at the end of the phone for any questions and a good source of local knowledge. He took us through everything we needed to know about the house and really made us feel welcome in his home. The house was beautiful- the pictures don't do it justice and it's a great size. We had 4 adults and one baby staying and never felt on top of each other. The views and local wildlife (and daily visits from the cat) make it a special place to stay. The house had everything we needed. It is in a great location for San Rafael, which is in walking distance and an easy commute to other local areas and attractions including Napa Valley and San Francisco. The latter we would recommend visiting via the ferry from Larkspur which is really reasonable, great views on the way in and saves the hassle of driving and parking. Would happily stay here again and throughly recommend it.

The house is perfect for a getaway, it is located on the top of the hill at the end of one way street. Very quiet at night! The house is well cared for and clean. It has every thing you need during your stay. The communication with Glyn was perfect. There is a cat who lives in the garden and he asks for food in the mornings :)

I am a publishing professional, semi-retired, born in the UK and living in the US (Virginia, Missouri, New York City,San Diego, Los Angeles), and now the San Francisco Bay Area of California ) for the past 27 years. I have done many home exchanges around the world with visitors who wanted to stay in our peaceful home in beautiful Marin county as a base to explore San Francisco, Giant redwoods, the Pacific coastal areas, beaches, and Napa and Sonoma wine country. I am now adding the rental options for more flexibility.
I am mostly a traveller and a seeker of other other ideas and cultures though now I am somewhat tied to Marin County for a few more years. I was thinking about what I really do and like to do and this area is suited perfectly for those desires: nature, healthy good food, culture and the outdoors. I basically eat and experiment with almost everything edible and if pressed I would say Asian cuisine is my favourite choice. My main passion is football (soccer to non Brits and Euros) and I still kick it around and coach. I do read voraciously ; mostly politics, bios, current events and international relations. My other singular passion is music and I can bend your ear about most types, genres, some history and many artists.
