This is listed separately from my main booking page so single folks willing to share the upstairs area with another booked single may inquire about sharing space. Separate bedrooms, but share bathroom and separate shower.

The Space

See listing for Country house on 23 acres (this is one of the rooms)
Red bedroom has queen bed, WiFi mini-fridge, windows looking out on cedar tree and other trees, lots of closet space.
Bathroom and separate shower is common to all three available bedrooms.

Guest Access

Carport, washer/dryer, use of kitchen, common areas; TV w/Netflix ..., DVD movies. Fresh ground coffee each morning, plus fruit/juice, yogurt, cereals, baked goods and other items for continental breakfasts. Guests may also cook.

Interaction with Guests

I respect people's privacy, but enjoy visiting, so guests set the tone for how much or how little they wish to interact.

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is approximately 5 minutes from downtown Chico. There are some small orchards, our open land (23 acres), houses on lots from 1-3 acres. Great for walking; bird watching (seasonal); can bike to town if you bring bikes.

Getting around

There is no public transportation to the house. Chico does have an extensive bus system and taxi services are available.
I can drop people off at the train station if they want to catch a train or bus (any hour of the night or day). I can also provide rides to and from the local airport or to help folks pick up rental cars.
There is a transporter service to and from the Sacramento Airport.

Other Things to Note

I charge by the number of people in a party. $60 per (2 people) night; extra guests after 2 the fee is $20 per person per night. Booked party has the entire upstairs with 3 bedrooms, bathroom and separate shower to themselves, whether 1, 2, 3 + people. Example: 2 = $60, 1 extra = $20 = $80 for 3 people per night + $10 cleaning fee.

  • Sally was great! Very welcoming and accommodating. When we left my husband said that the best part of our trip was talking with Sally and hearing her stories. We would love to return in the spring with our children!

  • Sally is a welcoming and gracious host. She wasn't home when I arrived but had everything set for me and left a note to help myself to a cup of tea and anything on the counter. The room was very comfortable, the bed was great and I slept like a log -- rare for me. There were many thoughtful (email hidden) in my room, choice of bar or liquid soap, a cabinet full of towels to choose from, wifi password… Since her home is on a large piece of property, it was lovely and quiet for sleeping. I wished I could stay another day and lounge in that comfy bed, gazing out the window at trees swaying in the wind. She also offered a wonderful breakfast of breads, yogurt and fruit. If I go back to Chico, I will definitely want to stay at Sally's.

  • We had a lovely stay with Sally in the Red Bedroom. The accommodations were comfortable, atmosphere friendly, and breakfast of fruit and homemade muffins delicious. Sally even said yes to Clancy my dog coming with us.

  • I had a great stay with Sally. I felt at home and relaxed during my short stay. I was luck enough to be there when her Tangerine tree was producing and she sent me home with a large bag for the road.

  • I completed my second stay at Sally's house this past weekend. She's a great host that is very welcoming, responsive and hospitable. My sister and I left with a bag full of persimmons from her tree that we helped pick. After sleeping one of my best nights sleep, the fresh coffee and half and half were great. I can't wait for my next trip to Chico and I'll definitely be staying at Sally's if it's available.

  • Our stay with Sally was great! She is very nice and accommodating. The room we stayed in was very cozy and clean, and the bed was SO comfortable. I probably had the best night's sleep in a long time. The country feel made the stay all the more pleasant- it was a nice, relaxing getaway from the city!

  • My daughter and I stayed one night at Sally's while we were checking out the Chico State campus. I can't say enough great things about our stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Sally's home is lovely and cozy. She's located a few minutes out of town in the country on a beautiful street on a beautiful piece of land. Sally was a wonderful hostess and provided us with delicious coffee and a variety of breads and jam for breakfast. We look forward to our next visit with Sally!
