Interaction with Guests
I respect people's privacy, but enjoy visiting, so guests set the tone for how much or how little they wish to interact.
This neighborhood is approximately 5 minutes from downtown Chico. There are some small orchards, our open land (23 acres), houses on lots from 1-3 acres. Great for walking; bird watching (seasonal); can bike to town if you bring bikes.
There is no public transportation to the house. Chico does have an extensive bus system and taxi services are available.
I can drop people off at the train station if they want to catch a train or bus (any hour of the night or day). I can also provide rides to and from the local airport or to help folks pick up rental cars.
There is a transporter service to and from the Sacramento Airport.
Other Things to Note
I charge by the number of people in a party. $65 per (2 people) night; extra guests after 2 the fee is $25 per person per night. Booked party has the entire upstairs with 3 bedrooms, one bathroom and one separate shower, whether 1, 2, 3 + people. Example: 2 = $65, 1 extra = $25 = $90 for 3 people per night + $10 cleaning fee.

Large house on a big block and guest rooms are located in a separate wing of the house, so it was very quiet and peaceful. Sally was very welcoming and also extremely knowledgeable about the area. Room was comfortable and everything provided with much attention to detail.
Sally's warm welcome and lovely home made for a replenishing stay on a visit to my dad in Chico. We arrived after dark and woke to pastoral views and lovely light. We had our choice of three charmingly furnished bedrooms upstairs. Since the shower is separate from the vanity/commode room, it was super easy for my daughter and I to share. Candies in the rooms and small fridges were a nice touch and would have been really helpful if we were staying longer.
Sally provided a lot of choices for our continental breakfast, along with excellent coffee.
Sally is sweet and interesting. She was packaging her dried persimmons.
Her location is a wonderful old but well maintained farmhouse, very close in to Chico, but with a lovely rural feel.
We would definitely return our next trip.
Sally was fantastic host, great place as well. She has a great knowledge of the area and can give fantastic recommendations. Thank you for the great stay!
Couple of things here. Firstly, Sally is a fantastic hostess! You couldn't ask for a more welcoming and kind individual. From diligently making sure coffee was ready early in the morning to sharing fresh produce straight from her amazing garden, there was never a moment I didn't feel 'at home' while I was staying there. The country house is in the perfect location! Its far enough from chico that you can sleep with the windows open and the only sound you'll hear is the crickets chirping, yet close enough that downtown is less than a 5 minute drive away. Every room and bathroom was immaculately clean, and beyond comfortable. The kitchen in this house is amazing, with plenty of room and a large variety of cooking utensils, making any meal preparation as easy as if you were at home....the blender is especially amazing. I was quite sad to leave after staying for a week, and I look forward to making it a habit to stay there everytime I visit the NorCal region.
The place was amazing and very clean. Sally was a great host and very accommodating!
Sally was great! Very welcoming and accommodating. When we left my husband said that the best part of our trip was talking with Sally and hearing her stories. We would love to return in the spring with our children!
