The space
An exceptionally unique property in Down East Maine. A restored Boathouse, located right on the water, is cozy, private and relaxing with open and airy, high ceilings. One feels as though they are really on the water but you have the comfort of a comfortable and charming Boathouse. You'll love the warm, breezy days and quiet, starry or moon-filled nights with soothing sounds of loons and gently clanking boat masts in the distance, lulling you to sleep. Loaded with historic information, photos and memorabilia in an updated living space. A unique premier location with outstanding views on deep water.
Sleep like a baby in the comfortable, queen-sized bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen for you to cook anything you like, including your own lobsters! If it gets chilly at night, there’s a gas stove you can use to warm up the space quickly. The boathouse has a shower and a composting toilet that supports the sustainable nature of this special place.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a ‘glamping’ off-the-grid style experience. High-speed WiFi here. Detailed information about the Marine toilet is on site.

Guest access
The boathouse will be open upon your arrival and you may then lock it with the available keys.

This is a private, full waterfront cottage with its own private yard and deck looking at the water. The neighboring beach has public access so you may see some boats, and kayaks coming and going during the day.

Parking is on site.

Other things to note
While you’re tucked away in your own private oasis, you are also just down the road from fabulous organic food, numerous gastronomic delights, and world class music and theater.
Nearby is the much beloved Tinder Hearth, a wood-fired, naturally leavened bread bakery that also offers artisanal pastries and delicious pizza that Bon Appetite has rated as some of the country’s best. Naturally fresh seafood is available and we provide fresh eggs.

Neighborhood highlights

The waterfront here is one of the best in Maine. Spectacular sunsets, panoramic views and part of the farm the Boat House is as special and offers a truly Maine experience. On a Wharf, the same used for hundreds of years, small boats and fishermen launch from here, reminding us if all the years when the large clipper ships sailed to ports throughout the world.

A rustic, clamping experience that feels more like being on a boat than on land. Outstanding sunsets, a small yard fully surrounded by water, and on the farm that's been in the family for 200 years.

Near the best of the midcoast, the Boathouse overlooks Castine, Islesboro and the Camden Hills.

Have kayak delivered for the week, enjoy the deck and drive to Stonington, Deer Isle, or Blue Hill for food, galleries, trails and music.

Moving to Maine, back to the family farm, has been an amazing experience as we share a rekindling for a simpler life and a more sacred existence. Our replenishing the ground to rebuild our environment as we cultivate meadow land and reconnect to a simple and elegant life. Naturally, a rural life is full of movies, walks, markets and reading and we participate in many local activities which we have many. We genuinely enjoy our wonderful guests and can say they have all enriched our lives.
