The downstairs house suite is yours! it has three doors and is the entire front of the downstairs. We have over 13 acres on the ridge and 7 acres in the Watauga Gorge for you to enjoy. Beech Mountain is in our view on the NC side, and Sugar Mountain is just behind it. You can see Grandfather Mountain just beyond Beech. From the left, you will see Tater Hill and Rich Mountain to Howard's Knob above Boone, then Beech and Roan Mountain. The view on the TN side is of Watauga Lake and Iron Mountain, with Holsten Mountains in VA beyond. You have a large patio with a gas grill, a wood-burning firepit, and a hot tub. We hope you will enjoy the chairs and tables on the NC front lawn, the Maple Tree Deck, and the Guest Deck as well.

Cell phone service depends on your provider. Most cell carriers work fine. We have installed a Verizon Wireless Network Extender to assist with reception if needed. By logging onto our free Wi-Fi, cell phones will have the benefit of improved coverage when set to "Wi-Fi Calling." Check with your provider.

Other things to note

My work: Airbnb and pottery
I taught art for 32 years and now continue that creative journey by teaching pottery here on the mountain. Whether you're curious about hand-building or want to try the pottery wheel, I love sharing the process with guests! I have three wonderful daughters, three great sons-in-law, and six amazing grandchildren. We built a private first-floor space for them—when it’s not in use, we open it to others through Airbnb. Glamping is great!
