Stylish, 1 bdrm Japanese-style apt.

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Precita Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States

The Space

This newly remodeled, tastefully designed one bedroom apartment is located in the safe, residential and family-friendly neighborhood of Bernal Heights, one block from Precita Park. The unit has it's own private entrance, bamboo floors, a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and wi-fi internet access.

The bedroom features a comfortable bed with a queen-sized Euro-top mattress, a delightful, Asian antique armoire, and charming Japanese shoji sliding doors that separate it from the living room. There is a queen-sized sofa bed in the living room, so a couple with a friend or up to two children can stay in the apartment at the same time. The ceilings are just 6 and a half feet high, so if you are that height or taller, please take notice - you will need to watch your head. This is a completely separate downstairs unit and our family lives in the home upstairs. We have two small children and endeavor to keep the area above quiet in the early morning until approximately 10 am.

The comfortable living room couch faces a wall-mounted 40-inch flat screen television with a Roku box which lets you stream movies and programs from the internet. The well-appointed, modern kitchen has granite counter tops, a counter top stove, microwave, convection oven, and refrigerator. There is also an in-unit washer and dryer. Stay in and make dinner, or head out to any of the excellent nearby restaurants in Bernal Heights or the Mission District.

The weather in this part of San Francisco is the sunniest in the city. With an excellent neighborhood cafe, coffee shops, a corner fruit and vegetable market, and several restaurants a short stroll away, this quiet, secluded apartment gives you a home-away-from-home experience. Precita Park provides a broad, open area with beautiful trees, grass, plenty of room to throw a frisbee or baseball, and a popular children's playground at one end. The apartment is also conveniently located, within easy walking distance of public transit including multiple bus lines, a 15-minute walk to BART, and easy freeway access. If you have a car, we have free, on-street parking in front of the unit's garage.

Check In
  • Great place in the Mission; everything exactly as portrayed in the listing for the apartment. We had a great time staying at Suzy's place - they were accommodating with our check-in and we were greeted warmly by the family and snacks upon our arrival. Everything in the apartment is new, clean and works great. Awesome Mission dining options and nice parks within walking distance.

  • Friendly, charming and considerate hosts;available and supportive. The unit was elegant in its simple decor with a beautiful orchid on the dining table and tasteful arrangements of furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom spacious. The separate entrance lets you feel a sense of ownership and privacy. The location was superb with easy access to 101 and so to San Jose, San Francisco downtown and the bay bridge to Berkeley and Oakland. The on-street parking in front of the unit was special for SF and much appreciated. We would love to stay there again.

  • Suzy was such an awesome host and her apartment was just as great! Suzy was very accommodating and even left some toys and books for my 2 year old nephew to play with. Also some cookies to welcome us, yum! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed and then some...washer/dryer with detergent and kitchen with utensils and cookware. The location is ideal and we were even able walk to and hike Bernal Heights. Would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend Suzy and her apartment!!!

  • A delightful cosy little place with a contemporary Japanese style.
Equipped with basic necessities, clean and very well furnished. Easy to move around with bus 27 brings you to downtown San Francisco in about 15-20 mins.
Costco, Best Buy, Trader Joe's, etc. around 9th and 10th street
about 7-10 mins by bus 27.
A safe neighborhood and her place is also most ideal if you drive, has a space to park.
Suzy is such a hospitable and friendly host who responses to your queries very promptly.
Most enjoyable stay with my family .
    Thank you Suzy

  • Stunningly decorated apartment in a funky family-friendly area. Apartment had everything we could want and more. The roku box allowed us to watch all the tv and movies we could possibly want. Suzy even provided a pack and play crib and toys for our baby. The on street parking was a big plus. I would highly recommend staying here. One minor issue was the ceiling height. My husband is just under 6 foot 5 inches and he couldn't stand up straight in the apartment. So the ceilings are under marginally under 5 and a half foot. Other than that - faultless accommodation. Thanks Suzy.

  • Suzy's place was perfect for us family of four!
You could see that she had put a lot of thought into making the apartment a pleasant place to stay at for travellers.
We felt like at home - we had a big dining table for us four to sit around and have meals, kitchen area and bathroom were spacious. Suzy was a very a nice person, she was very welcoming and was happy to help and provide with anything we needed during our stay.
I would definitely stay here again if I go back to San Francisco.
    Thanks heaps Suzy!

  • Suzy's apartment is exactly as described, and was absolutely perfect for our stay. Although we were 4 people and Suzy reminded us that the apartment was modestly sized, we found that there was more than enough space for us to be comfortable for 3 days. The kitchen is well equipped and we found everything we needed with ease. The towels are amazing, and the bathroom is spacious. The laundry is very convenient, and at this point in our road trip, we were glad to have it right in our own place.

The neighborhood was nice, and we took advantage of the cafe down Precita, as well as the organic grocery store.

Although we had a car, which we were able to park at Suzy's place, we found the apartment very accessible to downtown without the need to use it. We headed downtown from the 24th and Mission Bart stop a few times. (Be sure to walk up Florida and West on 24th for a pleasant walk through a cool neighborhood.) We had even better results riding the bus, particularly bus 27 which practically comes right in front of the apartment.

Overall this was the perfect place for a stay in SF if you need parking and/or are comfortable with public transportation.

  • Suzy’s place was our first experience with AirBNB and we could not have wished for anything better to start of our trip. We were greeted with some awesome homemade cookies and a really clean and rather spacious apartment. Even before our trip Suzy was helpful and fast responding to any questions we might have had. The location of the apartment is excellent the 27 bus line is not even a minute from the apt and takes you directly in to the heart of San Francisco (15-20 minutes) and a little grocery store is also close by. We really liked the fact that we had a washer and a dryer and made good use of it (detergent was provided). A little note on the side, the pull out couch is not ideal for tall or “big” people, but we managed quite well putting the mattress on the floor and got a good night’s sleep.
We would definitely recommend Suzy’s place to anyone who wants to feel a bit closer to home when far away.
