Main living room has a flat-screen 40" LCD television streaming programs from the internet.
This is a completely separate downstairs unit and our family lives in the home upstairs. Please understand that with two young children, we cannot guarantee quiet, particularly in the early morning. If you are an early riser, are yourself traveling with young children or are not bothered by noises above, you are an ideal guest.
This newly remodeled, tastefully designed one bedroom apartment is located in the safe, residential and family-friendly neighborhood of Bernal Heights, one block from Precita Park. The unit has it's own private entrance, bamboo floors, a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and wi-fi internet access.
The bedroom features a comfortable bed with a queen-sized Euro-top mattress, a delightful, Asian antique armoire, and charming Japanese shoji sliding doors that separate it from the living room. There is a full-sized sofa bed in the living room, so a couple with one friend or perhaps two younger children can stay in the apartment at the same time. The ceilings are just 6 and a half feet high, so if you are that height or taller, please take notice - you will need to watch your head.
The comfortable living room couch faces a wall-mounted 40-inch flat screen television with a Roku box which lets you stream movies and programs from the internet. The well-appointed, modern kitchen has granite counter tops, a counter top stove, microwave, convection oven, and refrigerator. There is also an in-unit washer and dryer. Stay in and make dinner, or head out to any of the excellent nearby restaurants in Bernal Heights or the Mission District.
The weather in this part of San Francisco is the sunniest in the city. With an excellent neighborhood cafe, coffee shops, a corner fruit and vegetable market, and several restaurants a short stroll away, this quiet, secluded apartment gives you a home-away-from-home experience. Precita Park provides a broad, open area with beautiful trees, grass, plenty of room to throw a frisbee or baseball, and a popular children's playground at one end. The apartment is also conveniently located, within easy walking distance of public transit including multiple bus lines, a 15-minute walk to BART, and easy freeway access. If you have a car, we have free, on-street parking in front of the unit's garage.
No Smoking - Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the apartment or within 15 feet of the building. Smoking is okay on the front steps or the sidewalk outside. Do not smoke in the rear stairwell or back of the building as the smoke fumes rise into the upstairs area.
Noise - We ask that you keep, music, TV, or other excess noise down to a minimum after 10 pm. No parties are allowed. Only those staying at the unit are allowed to spend the night.
Waste - Trash, compost, and recycling are taken out once a week on Sunday night. We ask that guests separate these distinct waste groups into their appropriate containers and set them out front on the sidewalk if they are at the apartment on Sunday night.
Prior to Check-out - Please remove the linens from the bed and pile them with the dirty towels in front of the laundry area. Also please wash all of the dirty dishes and place them in the drying rack.
Suzy was very warm and accommodating. We had some troubles on arrival, but she really helped us get acclimated. The space was exactly as described. It was private, comfortable and spacious. The three of us never felt cramped.
We were lucky to find such a nice apartment in exactly the location we wanted for our son's wedding on the top of Bernal Hill. Suzy and her family are great hosts and the home was well represented in the listing. Having a place to park right in front of the house was a big plus. Since we used to live just 2 1/2 blocks away ( we moved away many years ago) and have continued to visit the area over the years we were already very familiar with the neighborhood and the city so we didn't need the help finding restaurants, shops, etc. that was so kindly offered. Suzy did, however, offer to lend us a couple of chairs as we were having folks come to the apartment for champagne after the wedding. We would happily stay again next time we're in town for a few days.
Our stay at Suzy's was very comfortable, pleasant, and welcoming! When we arrived, we were welcomed in person by Suzy and her two adorable children. There were also fresh cookies on the table for us to welcome us to the city. Suzy's place is extremely spacious (huge bedroom, living room, dining room, huge kitchen, and bathroom), tastefully decorated and the photos are very accurate. She also left a detailed booklet with instructions and tips on various things, e.g. how to work the TV and the washer, which we found very useful. Suzy was also very accommodating - my girlfriend and I both had late-night flights and we were worried about where we could keep our luggage for the day, but Suzy was flexible and let us check out whenever it was convenient. Location-wise, Suzy's place is a little far from most places in the city, but that's nothing that Lyft line or Uber pool cannot solve! Besides, there are plenty of good restaurants just a few blocks away.
The place was awesome, just like the pictures. Clean, cozy and comfortable. We had all the basic tools to make some meals and the couch and bed were comfortable. Word of warning though, don't jump, you'll hit your head on the ceiling. We were warned about little children making noises, but it wasn't a problem for us at all (even without the earplugs). I'd stay here again. Awesome.
This was my second stay with Suzy, and everything was wonderful, just as before. The Apartment is clean, cozy, and has everything you need for a stay of any length. There are great cafés and shops nearby, and good public transit as well. This is a great place, and I highly recommend it!
We had a good stay in a quiet neighbourhood and Suzy was very much welcoming
I live in San Francisco with my husband and our children. Originally from the East Coast, we've lived in SF for over 15 years and love the Bernal Heights/Mission neighborhoods.
