Guests have full access to the cabin.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the bay area, so we are generally not around when we have guests. However, we are occasionally in the attached studio. We would love to hang out if the guests prefer, or are happy to stay incognito and allow the guests to enjoy their privacy.
We love being a short walk to downtown Tahoe City. The lake is 5 minutes away, as are fine dining, grocery stores, massage/yoga, shopping and plenty more. There are bike/snowboard/ski/paddleboard/kayak rentals all within walking distance so you can avoid all the traffic during busy times.
No smoking allowed. Cabin must be left in clean condition (dishes washed, etc). Security deposit refunded after cleaning and verification. No pets allowed.
The cabin was really good. Though it was a short trip, we had a wonderful time during our stay. Peter was very helpful and he kept us quite informed. He was really flexible in adjusting our check-in/check-out times based on our schedule. Overall, it's a nice and beautiful place. It's close to all activities and businesses, and yet, it's secluded and serene in it's own way.
Beautiful house and hiking trails right within walking distance. And Peter was super nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
Peter is a fantastic host and the house is beautiful. We arrived and everything was clean and organized. Peter emailed me an information packet detailing everything I needed to know for the weekend (wifi, stereo, sauna info). Did I mention the sauna? It seats 2-3 people and is the perfect way to unwind after a day of skiing.
The house is a 10 minute walk to popular TC restaurants such as Fat Cat, Christy Hill, and Moe's BBQ. But when you are staying at the house, it feels like you are alone in the woods. I'll definitely be back next time I come to Tahoe!!
Peter makes it truly easy and casual to stay at Hidden Serenity lodge. The home was immaculate upon arrival, and we didn't want to leave when the time came!
Everyone who made it up to Tahoe on this trip has taken note of the cabin, as we would all return on our next trip.
Peter's lodge is fantastic-- great location, beautiful interior, spacious rooms, and clean amenities. He was extremely responsive and helpful in providing all the necessities for our group of 10. The kitchen and bathrooms were adequately stocked and the entertainment system made for a memorable night. I would highly recommend this vacation rental and would love to come back!
About the Host, Peter
Hidden Serenity Lodge is owned jointly by my family and my parents. My fiance and I live in the South Bay Area. We're both Bay Area natives. I attended UCLA for school and have been a software engineer ever since. My fiance is a nurse, which is great for when I bang myself up on the slopes. We're avid snowboarders, climbers, hikers, and surfers (although that's hard to do at the lake!). We love to travel, which is what brought us here to Lake Tahoe in the first place. My parents are my partners in owning Hidden Serenity. My father has worked as a USPS employee until his recent retirement. My mother still works at Kaiser, where she's been for over 30 years. I wanted to find them a place with clean air and convenience that they could enjoy, and we're lucky to have found it at Hidden Serenity Lodge.
