The Neighborhood

Santa Teresita - Ocean Park neighborhood is a privileged location. To the east, Isla Verde tourist zone with restaurants, bars, nightlife, hotels and Isla Verde beach just a short 10 minute walk. To the west is Condado, the main tourism area of San Juan with more hangouts, dining options, fun places. And in between both my neighborhood has small inns such as Hosteria del Mar, Uno's Guest house and their excellent restaurants Uvva and Pamela's. Also close by Kasalta Bakery, Mango's Rest., Das Pastelhaus bakery.

Public transportation is easy Bus 53 takes to Old San Juan. A bus stop is two blocks away. Also the municipality of San Juan offers free shuttle service within the neighborhood and towards Old San Juan.

  • Great, safe neighborhood super close to the beach and also within walking distance to the grocery store and some restaurants on Calle Loiza. You must be a dog lover to stay here!

  • My husband and I had a pleasant experience at Alberto's. We stayed for a total of 7 days. The house is conveniently located 2 blocks from the beach in one direction and 2 blocks from a supermarket in another direction (this is also where the bus stop is if you want to go into Old San Juan). The house itself is nice, clean, and spacious. The 2 resident dogs are very sweet. The kitchen is equipped with many of the things that you would want when preparing a meal. We felt like locals (aside from the fact that we don't speak Spanish, which luckily didn't hinder us at all!), walking to the store to buy groceries and being able to cook meals. It's a good deal for everything that you get!

  • Clean, private, and safe room. You get your own entrance to your room so you can come and go as you please without disturbing people in the rest of the house. Also his location is close to the airport and old san Juan. However, if you want to go to el yunque or the caves, I suggest you rent a car. Also, Alberto is a pleasant host. I loved his dogs as well.

  • The host and other guests were very friendly. So were the dogs. The place was clean and in a good location near a park and a beach.
If you plan on riding the bus, they stop running around 9pm and i would suggest taking the 53 near the park.

  • Alberto was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived later than anticipated and he met me and showed me around the house. He also answered any of the questions I had. The room was very private along with a separate entrance to come and go as you please. The room was basic and provided me a home base to explore San Juan and surrounding areas. I was a solo traveler and didn't use many of the items in the house that are amenities.

  • A friend and I stayed for 3 nights, and there isn't much room for complaints. Alberto was friendly/conversational and available to answer whatever questions we had. He has a beautiful home and is in close proximity to a local beach. The room is more modest than the living area, which is very well kept. The only downside we experienced was being kept up at night by barking dogs in the neighborhood. However, it's minimal once he brings his 2 dogs inside. His dogs were very friendly and use the furniture like humans, so I wouldn't suggest the space for anyone who wasn't a dog person. Since I was raised with 4 dogs, I didn't mind them at all. We were able to park on the street when renting a car, and he has comfortable patio furniture if you just want to lay outside. The internet access was a little spotty, but I wasn't doing any major work for it to be much of an inconvenience. I would definitely stay at his place again.

  • Had a great stay at Alberto's place! The room is very private with just enough space for a couple or single traveler. A close walk to the beach, there is also a park nearby with a running track, in case you want to get some exercise. Alberto even lent me a beach towel, as I lost mine in Miami.

Dania and Tyson (the dogs) became my buddies---be aware that they will bark at times (during daylight hour), when other dogs walk by the front gate, but that didn't bother me, as I've grown up with dogs (it's what dogs tend to do). They never barked at me coming or going---if you want them to, they are more than happy to hang out with you in the house :)

  • Albert was a great host. Everything was clean. With the keys Albert provided, we had our privacy and freedom of movement. Definitely recommend to other travelers.

  • We stayed at Alberto's place for a week and had a great experience.
Alberto was a great host who opened up his home to us while giving
Us our space at the same time. We were made to feel very welcome.
The location is just fantastic. A few minutes walk to ocean park beach
And many cafés and restaurants, juice bars and shops. His 2 dogs are
Great but can be a little noisy in the mornings. Alberto was really helpful
With anything we required, information and also beach chairs and towels.
A 10 out of 10 experience and would recommend this place.

Single, entrepreneur, beach lover, private and interested in meeting people and sharing my properties with those that know how to share in a clean, quiet and roommate-type of environment. Honesty is key for me and those around me. I don't like smokers nor loud mouths nor trashy people. I love to travel and have been all over Europe, some Latin American Countries, Egypt, Turkey and lots of US states. Lots more to investigate and visit. So far my favorite destination is Prague. I believe in spirituality, and a world reigned by love.
