This is a special, vintage kama'aina (local) , very open, airy, Polynesian setting, 2,000 sq. ft., turn key , full amenities, " the enchanting Hale Kawehi" .... You will enjoy the many museum pieces displayed throughout the house. Lovey garden settings and very private AND COMFORTABLE. This guest house is very roomy; large living room, den, wet bar, designer kitchen, two large covered decks, deluxe twin bed, with bath and a half. There are stained glass windows and panels throughout the house AND KOA FURNITURE AND CABINETS. Located in the downtown Hilo area featuring l restaurants, shops, bus terminal, farmer's market. I want to share this beautiful Hawaiian setting with my guests, including my local knowledge of Hilo. So come and enjoy.

This is a quiet and safe neighborhood. Police and fire are less than a mile away. Located in town and great launching point to many attractions.
Public transportation is available. The main bus terminal is in downtown area. The airport is 3 miles from property and easy to locate from airport.
Hilo is a nice town. Property is centrally located. Please see website. (website hidden).
Guests have complete access to entire house with full amenities, privacy, free wi fi, free covered parking, no cleaning fees, no security deposit, cable tv in den and bedroom, 2,000 sq feet of living area.
daily housecleaning. This is a family estate and host lives is separate cottage with separate entry so guests have complete privacy. However, host is always available to assist guests and make many suggestions on what to see/do and where to dine.

Hale Kawehi is located in downtown area, in a very nice, quiet and safe neighborhood, walking distance to the downtown area with lots of restaurants. Lots of people walking, riding their bikes, enjoying the broad sidewalks. It is close to Imiloa, University of Hawaii, police, fire, hospital, post office, Hilo Municipal Golf Course, airport, and just a great launch to all attractions. The Hawaii sales and hotel taxes of 13.41 percent is included in rate. It's a bargain. N0 CLEANING FEE.
Hilo has a bus system and the terminal is about a mile from rental. You can walk easily to the downtown area where there are also lots of restaurants, farmer's market and many shops. Centrally located, you will be able to find you way around easily. I have large maps of Hilo and the rest of the Island posted in covered garage. This is the" Big Island", so a rental car is recommended.
Other Things to Note
Hilo is a nice, friendly town. We have several public beaches that guests will enjoy. Lots of places to visit and, of course, the volcano and whale watching.
Hilo, Puna and Kona have coqui frogs that chirp at night. Laundry services upon request.. House manual provided when checking in. The police (911) and fire departments are located 0.5 miles from rental, and the hospital is 2 miles away, Required when checking in by my Insurance Company. rental liability waiver, bring a photo copy of you passport or US driver's license, and charge card information, front and back. This is held for 24 hours after check out for security purposes. All Hawaii sales and hotel room taxes of 13.41% are included. Two guests maximum.
