I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Hale Kawehi. Kawehi made me feel right at home with her warmth and hospitality. I only wish I could have my stay was not so short. I recommend Hale Kawehi to anyone whose looking for a charming place to stay in downtown Hilo.
Our stay at Hale Kawehi was the epitome of the Hawaiin Aloha. Right from the heart. Kawehi was very responsive in all of our pre-visit emails and so helpful in guiding our stay while in the Hilo area. The area was safe and quiet. The gardens made it feel like we were in a rain forest instead of in the urban area of Hilo. A unique oasis in the middle of the city.
We were so touched and grateful for an authentic Hawaiin dinner that Kawehi prepared for us during our stay. It was fabulous, delicious and very generous of her. Kawehi is a warm and gracious hostess. The house is a home to travelers and provides for all your needs. Kawehi is the momma you left behind.
Kawehi made us feel super welcome! The place was comfortable, clean and extremely charming. We loved having our breakfast outside, by the garden.
Little things, like coffee and croissants were great. Perfect location for exploring Hilo, Puna, and Volcano Nat'l Park. Kawehi gave us excellent recommendations.
Bring ear plugs for the noisy little frogs outside! Absolutely recommend staying here.
Very nice and cosy place that makes you feel like home immediately. Kawahi is a perfect host. She will give you helfpul advice for trips around the island. We enjoyed our time a lot.
Kawehi was very welcoming and pleasant. The house was an enjoyable and interesting place to stay.
I had a wonderful time at Hale Kawehi. I couldn't have a better experience in Hilo. The house is huge, homey, and full of love with Details. Kawehi herself was the best host I've ever met. She is very caring, even baked us Croissants for breakfast and gave us the best tips for our short visit in Big Island. She cleans the house every day and her housecat Mr. Princess was extremely cute by greeting us every night. The house is centrally located, I would stay here everytime when I'll get back to Hilo. Thank you Kawehi, gonna miss you a lot. :)
