  • Great stay in a convenient location right next to the ferry; host was very kind and took care of us whenever we had questions. Place was big but could be cleaner. Beds were comfortable and place easy fits 10 people.

  • Pacifica es muy atenta, le gusta complacer a las personas y es genuina con todo lo que habla. Es persona humilde y generosa; tenemos una nueva amiga en Vieques!!

  • Pacifica was a wonderful host. We arrived in Vieques late because of the ferry but she still took us around to see sites and gave us a little history lesson. We are definitely coming back. She is a wonderful host. Neighborhood was safe and the room was comfortable. She is available to you at most times so just ask her for help if you need it.

  • Pacifica is a fun loving host. She can accommodate all your vacation needs. The bedroom we stayed in was basic with island decor . The neighborhood is lively and fun , where you can immerse in the Puerto Rican culture . I would advise to eat at the restaurant directly across from the ferry and a short walk to the house after.

  • Talk about a great host, Pacifica went out of her way every time we needed something and went on a tour of the island the second day, bought lots of veggies at the produce market and she did all the juicing!! Had never had beets and ginger in my carrot juice before so I learned much. We went to several beaches during the tour, for only $25 pp and did some snorkeling as well, on one of the beaches they were doing a photo shoot for seventeen magazine and then we went to the other side of the island later and they were doing shooting again at the dancing place in Esperanza. Get Pacifica to take you to Nuvia beach!!! My rental car could not get me there but her SUV did!! If you need to brush up on dancing lessons of all types she is your teacher. We did some tango cause I have had tango lessons before and actually remembered some of it but Pacifica knew all the moves and made me look good, hehe. Don't forget to ask her to take you to visit the coconut man. $10 for a half gallon of coconut water and he cuts the coconuts after draining them so you can eat the meat. I lived off of coconut water, meat, and avocados for the 2 days!! She is a great host and does much for her guests that almost no one else would do. Lives in the heart of town so you get the true flavor of what it is to live with the locals, which is exactly what I wanted, not just another resort where you do not get to know anyone. There is also a great church just around the corner for her house! I met many locals for life long friends at that church!! God bless!

  • This house definitely wasn't what we expected- we were rather disappointed.

One positive: We arrived at Vieques airport, and one of the houses caretakers (not the actual host) was kind enough to pick us up - Moira, I believe- she was wonderful and very helpful. She was always there to call and would provide us w suggestions for biobay guides and even help drive us and rent a car. She was great!

Everything else: As we drove to the house we realized it was located in a less than desirable neighborhood (it wasn't terrible, but was down the street from two bars that everyone told us not to go in because there was lots of sketchy activity happening there and by all means not Togo in). It also was not "2 blocks" from a beach- it was two blocks from a lookout point w no sand, and it was a significant drive to any of the actual nice beaches you could snorkel or lay on. Also, taxis are tough to come by so you should rent a car by all means.

The house itself was OK--to be honest, the pictures made it look better. It was hot, there were lots of noises (other families, roosters, bars down the street) and the amenities were a little old, rusted and rickety. The shower didn't heat up and the water pressure was low. Let me also reiterate the noise - roosters all over the neighborhood wouldn't let us sleep past 7. The host said we had the house to ourselves, but there was another couple in a unit attached to ours. I killed lots of larger bugs in the bathroom and the kitchen. We didn't see the actual host the whole time, and many locals we met on the island told us we were scammed for what we payed for that place in that neighborhood for one night.

The description is a bit deceptive - it's by no means a beachy getaway.

Overall this wasn't an ideal location and next time we plan to stay in Esperanza on the other side of the island.

  • Pacifica is very nice, she made biobay tour reservation for us. she recommended tours for us, but we only had a short stay there. I recommend vistors should spare at least 3 days on the island.

  • I absolutely loved my stay with Pacifica and my time in Vieques. Pacifica was an incredible host. Upon arrival she showed me around the house and asked me right away if I wanted to go to the beach. I think she read my mind. I originally booked a rental car, but ended up canceling it because I just paid her to take me to the beach. 5-7$ each way, you cant beat it. I got an island tour with her, and she took me to all the best beaches around the island. The location of her house was within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, right in downtown Isabella. Esperanza doesn't have any grocery stores so I really liked being able to walk to the store and be able to cook at her house. I really liked the outdoor patios of her place. Her place was clean and all my needs were met. I also liked staying in Isabella because I got more of a "local" feel rather than a "tourist" feel. One last thing, the beaches in Vieques are like no other. The water is so clean and pristine, the colors are absolutely breath taking...turquoise water..... Better than any of the beaches on the main island (if you ask me). Don't make the mistake of only coming here for a day, but consider staying in Vieques for the majority of your trip. There is minimal traffic and the pace is a lot slower. If you are pressed for time, consider a flight to Vieques... Around $120, and you are there in 25 minutes. (a taxi to Fajardo is around $80, plus you have to take the ferry). I took a flight there and then returned on the ferry. It worked out really well. Enjoy your time staying with Pacifica in Vieques. I consider it was a blessing for me. If I would have camped alone, I wouldn't have had a fraction of the experience as I did staying in Isabella with Pacifica.

  • Pacifica is a great person full of energy and will take you to the best beach spots in Vieques. Her car was broken when I was there but I'm glad I rented one, and she took me all over and even drove me when I wasn't comfortable.
The room I stayed in the house in simple, clean and fairly cool.
She will honestly tell you It is in a very noisy area with bars nearby and roosters too. I would definitely recommend bring a noise machine which helped me. There is a ceiling fan to cool off the room. There were no bugs and one mosquito while I stayed there.
The showers on the island have no hot water (I don't know if hotels do) but you get used to it, it's not ice cold just coolish.
You can hang out at bar where real locals are, and nearby local breakfast spot and BlackBeards rents and has beach equipment.
Pacifica can teach you the great local dance moves and knows many people on the island so is a good resource of information.
