MUST HAVE FUN.
We really enjoyed spending this past weekend with Jim and Dorothea on their lovely yacht. We were welcomed in like future friends and left like old friends.
It was just so fun to stay some where other than a hotel. I've never stayed on a yacht before - and my beau and I are now convinced, we could definitely live on a boat. Jim and Dorothea, if you ever decide you'd be interested in parting with your Island Odyssey...please let us know:) What a beautiful boat.
We were pleasantly surprised when they offered to make us dinner one of the nights and also treated us to breakfast both mornings. Dorothea is a wonderful cook and Jim mixes a tasty Rum punch:)
We visited mid-February, and now I'm thinking about what weekend we might join them again when it is warmer:)
Staying with James and Dorothea on their yacht was the highlight of our 2 weeks vacation. During our 4 days stay we felt as we came home. It's all started from the welcome drink. Then Dorothea invited us to the dinner. It was delicious. Then my wife cooked. We had a few stories to share. We came as the strangers, and I feel that we left as the friends.
My mom and I had a great time staying with Jim & Dorthea on their boat! They welcomed us with a delicious dinner the night we arrived and were fantastic hosts the rest of our stay! Cozy private room and use of the kitchen was perfect!
Dear JoAnn and Emily,
Thank you for the Kale you left. I didn't use it in salad I cooked it.
3T olive oil, 3 cloves mashed garlic, heated the oil with garlic
added 1 cup of vegetable broth and kale. Cooked about 10 minutes
and when soft added a cap full of vinegar. It was great.
From the time I met James (Jim) at the pier and came aboard and then met Dorothea, they welcomed me in with a drink and fun conversation and the kindness and hospitality never ended. It's simply who they are. So much I could say about their hospitality, the cleanliness of the boat including the stateroom and the private head, the fabulous steak dinner with all extra touches that people except Dorothea and Jim neglect anymore. Margaritas and wings by the pool, etc. You cannot go wrong unless you just refuse to book and show up. I am trying to persuade them to adopt me but I don't think it is working YET. Both Jim and Dorothea stand out as classy people with personal standards and substance that you don't find in people much anymore. It was also a pleasure to meet Dorothea's cousin, brother and wife and to have the opportunity to be a part of that crazy fun and conversation. Friends for life.... I LOVE THEM.
The magic words of Jim and Dorothy "have fun" became real. They cooked a wonderful dinner for us, which we could enjoy at The Myrtle Beach Yatch Club. We felt at home and better. The boat was super clean and spatious, not to say luxurious. Highly recommended.
My son and I had the best vacation. Mostly due to these fantastic hosts! The boat was such a nice getaway, clean and comfy!
Staying with James and Dorothea was like visiting your cool uncle that live in a Boat.
We had a wonderful time, the boat is beautiful, and they make you feel at home, they even cook a delicious meal for us. We're already missing them, can't wait to go back.

Being retired from the automotive business I now have free time to enjoy the world around me. This includes the wonders of nature, fly fishing, and boating but I also enjoy traveling a good resturant, theatre and entertaining.
I have had more fun by listing my property with AIRBNB. I have met the
nicest people with interesting stories and jobs. I look forward to meeting
my next guest and welcoming home return guests.
Just spent time in Jacksonville on the boat. Took a trip to St. Augustine
via.the ICW. It is a day trip, waters were calm and you could view Jacksonville
from the water. Not only do you see tall city buildings and then beautiful Florida estates with boat docks but there are also the birds and other wildlife. Dolphins
swam alonside jumping out of the water.
We docked at the City Dock in St Augustine near Lions Bridge
and stayed there.. St Augustine is beautiful with many sights
to see, shopping and good reasturants. They have a transportation system
that is great for sightseeing. It anyone cares to go let me know on airbnb.
Spring is around the corner and a new foal is due. The flowers will blossom
and new life will begin. It is great to beable to live life.
