  • Laretta and Steve were lovely hosts making us feel very welcome. Steve kindly offered his surfboards for our use while we stayed. We found the room a little noisy as it is close to a main road however the house was very clean and well equipped with everything you could need.

  • Our stay at Laretta and Steven was our best in Hawaii, their place is clean and the amenities provided were more than expected; we could borrow their snorkel gears, beach chairs--no problem! They have a really big garden with lots of fruit trees, and we really enjoyed having fresh and sweet papayas right from the trees!
This room is much bigger than it looks in the picture, and it was very nice to have AC in it to cool off during the day. There's other airbnb guests at this place too, and it was really nice to be able to meet other people.
The west side is beautiful for its private beaches, and it's not so touristy like other parts of Oahu. Staying at Banana Patch is highly recommended.

  • I traveled with my buddy and our stay was absolutely amazing. Everything about the place surpassed my expectations. The room we stayed in was huge, bigger than my bedroom at home lol. The bed was sooo comfortable. Laretta is the nicest lady and Steve is super cool and gave us great suggestions about the island. There's a mini fridge in the room and a full sized fridge just outside the room. Definitely going to stay here again, can't wait to go back.

  • Hi everyone,
I went to Hawaii for a vacation with my boyfriend. Laretta was a very pleasant and accommodating host, giving us tips on local life. The room was as described on the website, even better. Spacious with two windows with flywire! The house has a shared bathroom and a kitchen on each floor, allowing some independence. We enjoyed papaya and bananas from the garden!
The location of the house is not touristic and 10 minutes walk from the sea.Very well located. In addition, renting a car allows you to go look around until the end of Farrington Highway. You can observe albatrosses, seals and whales from the Ka'Ena point nature reserve. As I said it's not a touristic place so easier to rent a car to go look around!

  • Laretta and Steve are nice and very helpful hosts. Laretta gave us a tour on the island and showed us beautiful places. We saw turtles, wales and dolphins! The house is located close to the Highway, the beach and it has everything you need. We could eat fresh fruits from the garden.
We didn't rent a car and so Speedi Shuttle brought us from the airport to Larettas house and back. Once we took the public bus to Pearl Harbour (2 Dollars and almost 2 hours for one way. The bus is on time, reliable and people are nice).
Banana patch is a good place to stay if you prefer to spend time away from the touristic places. You have the beaches almost for yourself. You have to share the kitchen and bath with other guests, but there is enough space and it is great to meet people from all over the world.

  • We had great and relaxing vocations at Banana Patch. The whole house was clean and calm. Steve and Laretta were really friendly and caring hosts. They provided us with snorkel gear, gave us a tour around the neighbourhood and even shared their delicious fruits:).

  • I had a great stay! Laretta provided snorkel gear, surf boards, beach towels and beach bags in addition to other things. If you're looking for a fun get-a-away and prefer to be away from the typical tourist destinations, I recommend staying here. There's not much to do after dark, although there is a hot tub and a patio for relaxing. I saw the two larger master bedrooms (upstairs and downstairs) which have their own private bathrooms, but I didn't have any issue sharing the hallway bathroom with other guests. There is road noise, but I slept with the windows open every night and it didn't bother me. Comfortable bed, clean sheets and a large flat screen TV (although I never turned it on). There's a small refrigerator in the room too which was nice to have. There's also an AC unit, but I never used that either.

  • Steve and Laretta are super nice and helpful and just provide everything what a visitor can dream off!! They even take the time to show you around in the neighbour hood to reveal the hidden spots and just do soo much more than one could expect of a host. We had a fantastic time at their really clean place and met a lot of nice people. Thanks for all the fresh fruits coming right out of the garden!!!
