The Space

Fantastic studio overlooking the Philadelphia Art Museum. Close to bars, restaurants and historic Philadelphia sites.

There is a beautifully landscaped front porch which offers a guest the opportunity to enjoy the quiet street. The 48 and 7 bus are conveniently located across the street, and that is really the only noise you hear on this tree lined street.

While staying at my home, you have access to a great outdoor space. The front porch is a common area shared by everyone in the building, so feel free to grab some of the chairs from the vestibule, fire up the grill and have a great cookout.

I do not want to intrude on your stay, but I do love to show off my city. If you need advice on where to go and what to do, I will be more than happy to help. Just let me know.

Interaction with Guests

I do not want to intrude on your stay, but I do love to show off my city. If you need advice on where to go and what to do, I will be more than happy to help. Just let me know.

The Neighborhood

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my home and my neighborhood. It is a great space for one or two people and you can't beat the location. If you want the best Greek food in the City, head up to Zorbas- it is a family owned BYO with outdoor seating and the food is great. There is always something going on at the Parkway, just a few short blocks from my home, and watching the sunset behind the Art Museum is one of my favorite things to do from my living room.

Getting around

My home is directly across the street from a bus stop that will take you I the city center in 5-10 minutes, but you can just as easily walk to most major museums or attractions if you are so inclined.

Other Things to Note

There is on street parking that is "resident only" (restricted to two hours until 6:30pm) in front of the house. Surrounding streets do not have timed parking, just mind the signs. If you prefer a lot, there is a paid parking lot 3 blocks away- they charge $13 for overnights or $16 for 24 hours. If you are staying a while, I can get you a temporary resident permit for your car to make parking easier, I just need notice to go pick them up.

  • Highly recommended! Debi is a lovely host with a keen sense of how to make guests feel comfortable. The flat is located in a charming neighborhood that is a quick walk to museums, good restaurants, and whole foods. I stayed here while attending a conference at the convention center: i treasured being able to walk 20-minutes to the venue in the mornings and to return to a sunny, quiet flat in the evenings.

  • Wonderful stay! Deb was awesome with communicating and making us feel welcome. She had a bunch of recommendations as well. The place was perfectly located for all the things we had planned for our trip. It really felt like coming "home" after a long day of sight seeing. Definitely recommend this place.

  • Debi was very sweet and accommodating. She let us borrow her umbrella when it was raining outside. Her place was cozy and neat. Location was great. The bed was comfy. Parking wasn't bad during the day but can be tougher in the evening or at night. But we never had to park very far, just circle around. The only complaint I have, which is minor, is that the mirror in the bathroom was a little too high for a short 5'2" person like me. I would recommend bringing your own mirror to do your make up and stuff. Overall, I would stay again and recommend!

  • I loved, loved the apartment! The bed was super comfortable. We were there in the cold of November and Debi provided us with a really warm comforter and heaters that worked wonderfully. The location is awesome, close to the Philadelphia Art Museum, restaurants and public transportation. The neighborhood is colonial and vibrant. Parking worked out perfectly for us over a holiday weekend, but it is mainly street parking and might (?) prove problematic during the work week. Debi is a very, very gracious host and extremely accessible. She provided a detailed manual of everything in the apartment. She left us coffee, tea and cookies...all of which were greatly appreciated! We would definitely stay there again!

  • Debi is a superb host. She made everything easy for our arrival. The apartment is perfect for two. Her place is clean and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and there is a table for two for dining. Debi's home is located on a quiet tree-lined street in the Art Museum area. In warm weather, you would be able to enjoy the expansive front porch. In this area of Philly, street parking can be an issue but we had no problem getting a space that was close, other than once late at night. There are several excellent restaurants just a few short blocks away and all the other amenities you could need (dry cleaning, drug store, coffee shops, etc.). We would definitely return to Debi's on another visit to the city.

About
For 9 years, I had a job where I traveled extensively over the continental US- taking business trip after business trip. In 2006, I sought out, fell in love with and bought a lovely studio condo in a quaint neighborhood. My business travel subsided considerably. Once I started traveling mostly for fun, I lost my sense of "agenda" -sure there are sites you want to see when visiting a locale, but I enjoy getting lost in an area and finding out about local life and of course local food. When I host out of town friends and family, I love to show off my city and show them all the history as well as how we live. I enjoy Yoga, hiking, camping, and spending quality time with my friends and boyfriend. As a guest, I would spend little time in the accommodations, wanting to get out and be in the place that I am visiting. I love my home, so as a host would only ask that the people I share it with treat it with respect.
