Very friendly and welcoming diverse heritage neighbourhood where many houses are over 100 years old. People often stop to chat with each other. Young people are drawn here because of the atmosphere and proximity to funky Commercial Drive and nearby Italian section of Hastings street. It is a place where people are passionate about their community but also the state of the world. Many restaurants, bars and coffee shops are a short walk away.
There is access to frequent buses on either Commercial or Hastings Street, both are about 3 blocks away or 7 minutes walk.
Other Things to Note
internet wireless has changed.

What an amazing apartment! The location is perfect, close to downtown. The suit is clean, bright, comfortable and has enough places to relax. We had a really nice stay there.
Kathy and her neighbour, Tani, are very kind and helpful. Thanks again!
Our host was very accommodating she let us leave our bags even though we arrived very early that morning. The space was perfect for the four of us, lots of room to sit and relax, eat at the table, and have meals on the back deck. We loved the back deck in the late afternoon....great view, private and cool. The best thing about the house was the neighbourhood.......Very trendy upbeat, lots of stores, restaurants and grocery locations. The location made it easy for us to take the bus downtown. It was a great place to start our vacation and explore Vancouver.
We had a great stay in Vancouver. Apartment was perfect for our small family of four.
Had a 3 week stay here with my family of 4. The space worked out very nicely for us. The house was comfortable with a nice view off the back porch with great morning sun. The location is great, neighborhood is charming and quiet and it has a park right across the street. A perfect place to stay while exploring Vancouver.
Lovely quiet suite in a heritage house, great location to shops and restaurants.Kathy is a kind and helpful host.I recommend this listing and would defenetly stay there again.
We really enjoyed our week's stay in Kathy's airy and homely apartment. It was ideally located in a very interesting and quirky neighbourhood. We especially liked sitting on the cosy balcony and gazing at the mountains beyond. It was ideal for accessing downtown as there are regular buses (such as the 14, 16 and 20). For groceries, we would recommend the Triple A market on East Hastings. However, nearby Commercial Drive is ideal for eating out and is indeed a funky place to hang out. Plus, Kathy is a very amenable and charming host.
