Beautiful 2 bedroom in Park Slope!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215, United States

The Space

My apartment is a clean, bright, beautiful 2 bedroom with a large eat in kitchen (kitchen table seats 4), a nice spacious living room with hardwood floors and a huge comfy couch and 2 quiet, comfortable bedrooms that each sleep 2 people. One bedroom has a full size bed and the other has a very comfortable futon that opens up into a full size bed. The original crown molding on the ceiling, the white walls, the sunlight that enters from all sides along with the farm-house style accents make for a very comfortable stay in an amazing neighborhood in Brooklyn. Even though the apartment is surrounded by so many wonderful restaurants, stores, bars etc it is on a quiet block and the apartment itself does not get street noise at all so it is easy to relax and unwind. It's located just one short block from the R train which is one subway stop away from Atlantic Avenue (basically the Grand Central of Brooklyn with access to the 2,3,4,5,6,B,D,F,N,Q, R and W subway lines and the Long Island Rail Road too) so getting anywhere you need to go is always more than convenient. Manhattan is a quick 10 minute subway ride away. The surrounding neighborhoods feature charming Gowanus/Park Slope, Cobble Hill and Carrol Gardens all with more restaurants, clothing stores, brownstones, bars, coffee shops, movie theaters, live music venues and entertainment for kids than anyone could ask for. It is also a 10 minute walk to so many famous Brooklyn highlights like Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Academy of music (BAM) and the brand new Barclays Center. Brooklyn Boulders Rock Climbing gym is also just one block over. The options are endless. The Green Building is also just 2 blocks away (not even a 5 minute walk!) so if you are attending a wedding or an event there, my place is in the perfect location for you. I have 2 yoga mats and 2 yoga blocks that you are more than welcome to use and speakers that you can plug any device into. I also have two beach chairs and a portable grill that can be taken to Prospect Park for a barbecue. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking of all kinds. I love opening my home to other hosts and sharing my favorite restaurants and things to do during your stay. I've added some of my favorite places in the neighborhood to the map on my profile (beacuse there are so many to choose from!) and I'm always happy to recommend anything specific you may be looking for during your stay. Fresh baked cookies will be waiting for you upon arrival along with plenty of coffee and tea. I hope you'll come for a wonderful visit to Brooklyn soon :)

  • We had a wonderful time staying in Karen's lovely apartment. Our group of two couples had plenty of space for sleeping, lounging and dining too. Karen was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient in responding to any questions we had. The apartment is very close to a subway stop, making it easy to get into Manhattan. Plus we had a lot of fun exploring the local area too. Thanks for making our holiday great, Karen!

  • Karen was an excellent host. She was very responsive while organizing accommodations, flexible with our varying needs, and then took good care of us during our stay there, even leaving a plate of cookies out for us upon our arrival! We found Karen’s apartment because we were filming a movie in the neighborhood and were looking for a nice place for our A-List talent to stay and relax on their breaks during the shoot. The apartment is cute, well decorated, and very conveniently located near the Union St. subway stop on the R train. Thanks for a great stay, Karen!

  • Karen was the perfect hostess. We arrived and there were fresh linens, water, coffee and homemade cookies. We had to extend our stay and she was SUPER flexible with us and very responsive. The apartment is only an avenue away from the Union street R stop and there is a grocery store and some cute restaurants nearby. Totally recommend it!

  • Karen's apartment is exactly as described and better! The living room, kitchen and bedrooms are spacious. The apartment was easy to get to from the airport; we were able to get into the City easily too. The neighborhood was great! Karen was so helpful, she even made us COOKIES!

About
I love to travel, see and experience as many new things and meet as many new people as possible in this great big world. I also enjoy hosting guests and sharing the life that I love in the corner of Brooklyn that I call home. I love teaching (and practicing) yoga, playing my ukelele, cooking, seeing live music of all kinds and I dabble in photography. Connecting with people from dfifferent cultures is very important to me and I think there is no better way to experience a new part of the world than to hear directly from someone who lives there and experience life temporarily from their perspective. I am so happy to be a part of the Airbnb community which fascilitates this so seamlessly. Professionally I work in Manhattan planning special events that raise funds and awareness for individuals with developmental disabilities and I teach yoga on the side. I hope you'll come visit Brooklyn and see all that it has to offer!
