Perfect location, right on the square and a few minutes walk to the beach, the old town, shopping and restaurants. Alessandro was organized and got in touch beforehand to give directions to the apartment. His mom met us to give the key. She was a super nice and friendly lady and made us feel at home. The apartment was cozy and the sofa bed was fine for the two of us. And the AC felt like a luxurious bonus. We were here for 3 nights but wish it was for much longer. We'd highly recommend Alessandro's apartment.
Great place! Location was perfect - right on Massena square, 5 minutes to the beach and 10 to Old Town. Patio was excellent for having a glass of wine in the afternoon :)
My daughter and good friend all shared Alessandro's flat in Nice. In was right off Place Messina square; close to all the shopping and the beach. The apartment has everything you need and the air conditioning was a welcome bonus. It was a bit tight for 3 girls but doable for sure!
Superb location with the tram stop at the door step, great view of Messena Square....compact but very user friendly apartment. We had a lovely time in Alessandro's flat and it would be our first choice on our next visit.
My friends and I stayed at Alessandro's place for 3 days and it was an extremely pleasant stay. Very responsible owner; he provided us with very detailed instructions on how to get to his apartment many days in advance and his reply are very quick.
Didn't manage to meet him but his mum (and her adorable dog) made us feel very welcomed. We arrived earlier than the check in time for the apartment and she kindly let us prepare ourselves and change in her toilet. Despite the language barrier, she tried her best to recommend us places to visit and eat, asking us about our holiday and even lend us a beach mat in advance!
The apartment was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we could ask for: coffee machine, beach mats, hair dryer, plenty of towels etc. It is at a great location with all the shops, restaurant and beach within a stone's throw. Lafayette is just next door! There was a jazz festival just opposite so we had 'front row seats' to the awesome music :)
Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely return if I visit nice again :)
Excellent studio apartment with the best location in Nice! My wife and I had such a great time here and if we ever return to Nice, we've already agreed that we would try to get this place again. Alessandro stayed up late to welcome us from our late-arriving flight and walked us through the studio. He even had water and beers in the fridge for us as well; excellent host. With a jazz festival beginning the day after we left, we enjoyed nightly previews of bands and musicians performing in the square from our perfectly perched balcony. Place Massena was a constant buzz of activity, which kept us feeling right in the action during our stay. And even when we turned in for the night as the nightlife outside continued, the balcony doors did such an amazing job of cutting out virtually all noise. The AC worked extremey well, but the temps didn't require it very much. All in all, this place was exactly what we wanted and needed. Superb!!
Alessandro was a wonderful host! He met us at the apartment, walked us through it, and then gave us some tips (all useful!) on where to visit and what to do. He was easily accessible throughout our visit if we had questions.
The studio was perfect and exactly what we expected from the pictures. Others have mentioned that it's well-sized for two people. I stayed there with my two teenagers and the size worked for us as well. The bathroom is large and modern and the kitchen has everything necessary. The Nespresso machine was a nice touch. Furnishings are modern and quite comfortable, including the fold out couch. Best of all, though, was the beautiful view. We enjoyed it early morning till late at night. Because we visited just before the Jazz Festival, we were treated to nightly concerts of good and varied music, though we heard little once we decided to close the windows and turn on the AC.
The location was perfect -- close to the beach, a few minutes walk from Old Nice (full of wonderful restaurants and charming shops), a few blocks from a shopping mall and about a 25 minute walk to the Chagall Museum. The tram stops directly in front of the apartment building, which means that the regional train station is a fast and cheap ride away. (Be sure to save your coins, though, as you'll need them to buy tram tickets.) Other than that one tram ride, we walked everywhere easily, including down to the shore to rent bikes for a few hours and up to the top of Castle Hill to see the lovely evening views. Alesandro explained how to get to a nearby grocery store that included a bakery. It was just a few minutes away, and there were also many patisseries, cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The ground floor of the building includes a branch of BNP Paribas (sister bank for Bank of America.)
We would love to go back to Nice and would definitely stay there again!
