I had the perfect Airbnb experience at Barbara's and Didier's place!
The communication was good and Didier even made it possible for us to check in much earlier than in the description, thanks again!
My boyfriend and I were greeted by Didier and he gave us many advice about the surroundings of the apartment, Rome in general and about the public transport. There are construction works at the metro right now so they only go till 21.30 from sundays till fridays (on saturday it is available till 1.30 am) but there are many busses, so it is no problem.
Unfortunately we did not meet Barbara but Didier is a very nice and caring host, I can totally recommend his apartment!
The only negative thing is, that it is pretty far from the metro station (in my opinion) and overall a little far from the center. But the good thing about it is, that you are away from the hustle and bustle and I think everything is cheaper. There are many little shops to buy food nearby and one big supermarket at the end of the street and even very inexpensive restaurants.
I would not recommend visiting Rome in July because it is unbelievably hot and the apartment has no air conditioning. But it has a fan, which is very helpful.
All in all I love Rome, it is a magical city and this penthouse was very good to relax after visiting it and I immediately felt like home. It is very cosy and the patio is great in the morning and evening but don't forget mosquito repellent ;-)
Thank you Didier for everything! It was a pleasure meeting you.
The sunny penthouse was most enjoyed on the terrace in the evenings during afternoon siestas. Dieter and Barbara were very hospitable. They suggested grandma's restaurant that was very good. Would recommend!
Very helpful host. Lovely apartment and very central. No problems and parking on the street. Easy to catch the metro (train) from here. Only drawback us the little stairs but we had no trouble with them. Thanks Didier.
I was amazed by how beautiful Barbara & Didier's apartment was! Very new and clean, with so much natural light...and a patio! Didier was the most helpful host I've ever had, with suggestions for getting around Rome, restaurants in the area to try, and everything mapped out for us. Really great hosts.
Ciao !!
Barbara and Didier's flat is very pleasant and totaly conform to description and photos. The terrasse is very pleasant to have breakfast or to have a drink in the evening. Barbara and Didier are nice people really welcoming with interesting stories of their traveling.
