Place was nice bit dusty but liveable. Ichiro was very helpful and friendly. Location is convenient with food and shops just a couple of minutes walk. Would recommend to anyone on a budget.
I stayed here for one week during January. Ichiro was very accommodating during the whole time and speaks excellent English (he lived in Newport Beach, California for 8+ years). The location is convenient to get to from Takadanobaba station; about a 5-10 minute walk. Rooms are clean and simple with places to hang your clothes. Heater/AC in every room. Everything is recently renovated and in excellent condition. Expect the sheets/beddings to be a bit warn, but that didn't bother me.
The guesthouse was nice. Nice room (a bit dusty though, my friend had allergies) and very quiet. You need to walk at least 15 min from the subway station to get to the guesthouse. The price matched the stay.
My husband and i had a decent stay at Ichiro's T-Tower guesthouse. The place was like it was described in the description except we didn't know which room we were getting until we got there. The price was really good considering the location of the t-tower was in a very convenient place close to many well known JR stations. The toilet and shower are in separate rooms so it helps if someone was taking a shower, you can still use the sink and toilet. There were 3 toilet rooms that i know of, and 2 shower rooms. we rarely had to wait. Water pressure was good most of the time, only had one day that was weak but could be just coincident. Water was hot.
The room was spacious, however, the bed was a SINGLE bed (fits ONE) even tho we did say we were two ppl. The walk from Takadanobaba JR station to the t-tower was longer than expected... roughly 13-15 mins if u pace your walk. Once you are on the main street, there are convenient stores, restaurants, grocery store, drugstores etc. There was wifi in the house, but if you stayed on the 3rd floor like us, considered there was no wifi because we were constantly disconnected. Once we get connected, within 30 seconds, it'll disconnect us again. If you were on the 2nd or 4th floor, or even the ground floor, your connection is perfectly fine. Lastly, beware of noisy roommates. Even tho there was a "rule" about being quiet after 10pm and EXTREMELY quiet after 12am, we were next door to someone who did not respect those rules and would talk with other people during the night till 3am!! and note the walls are PAPER THIN... u could hear EVERYthing even if u were whispering, but roommate was very loud indeed. Several nights, i banged on the wall to remind her that it's LATE and ppl are sleeping.
As this is no hotel, therefore you need to pack your towels, shampoos on the trip if u are staying here. I recommend bringing a pillow too but Ichiro does provide pillows and bedsheets and blanket. There is coin laundry in the t-twoer, and when you check out, you must hv your bedding washed and dried before check out, or you can pay 500 yen to have Ichiro wash them after you leave which we think it's a good thing, cuz you have to pay i think 200 yen for laundry and maybe 100 yen to dry? so might as well just pay 500yen to ichiro so you don't have to worry about that when you check out.
Overall, it was not a bad place to stay for the price we paid.
Ichiro was very helpful too and gave us information on tours of Tokyo etc.
Ichiro was very professional and accommodating.
The room was neat and clean with air-con/heating.
The location is good. One minute walk away from the cherry blossoms that line the river. I recommend walking along the river to go to Okubo or Shinjuku (30 mins and 45 mins, respectively) to get the contrast in different areas of Tokyo. The guest-house is also
10 mins walk away from the lights and chaos of Takadanobaba Station.
The kitchen is well-stocked and the interest, for the most part, is good. Thank you Ichiro.
T-Tower is a very convenient place to stay in Tokyo, quite well connected to metro and JR lines, not far from Shinjuku in a quiet area.
