new solar panels, & enclosed yard, this gem is a rare beauty..a symphony of nature that is something to behold! breathtaking views of lake & mountains it's hard to believe you are just minutes from the village & slopes, & just 2 hours drive from LA!
Experience big bear lake from this rare and awe-inspiring cozy cabin. Exquisitely appointed, our 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin is tucked away off the beaten path on a cul-de-sac that combines serenity with proximity. While just a few minutes drive to the village and slopes, the view from the house (and hot tub on the porch) is a panorama of lake and mountains. Though just two blocks off the main road, it is light years away from civilization. We have recently fenced in the yard so that pets can have an enclosed area to run.
The 900sf house has a magnificent Big Bear Lake stone fireplace, with an adjustable stove insert, which provides ambience and supplemental heat to the central wall heater. So cozy to have the heat from the fireplace heating the entire cabin! The 'master' bedroom has a delicious reclaimed wood king bed (brand new mattress) and flat screen TV. The second bedroom sports a natural log bunk bed that has brand new double size mattresses on bottom AND top. Also in this room is a twin trundle bed, flat screen TV, and new washer/dryer in the closet.
The vaulted cathedral pine ceilings are bright and spacious, and the kitchen looks over the counter into the living room to create warmth and openness. In the kitchen are granite countertops, 4 lake-view windows, a dishwasher and disposal, microwave, oven, stove, espresso machine - fully stocked for all your cooking needs. The living room has two sleeper sofas, each opens to a double bed. There is a one car garage with ample parking outside.
As a convenience for our guests, we have beautiful hardwood firewood available on site for a fee of 15$/day, just to cover our cost. please leave the cash in the duck tureen on the kitchen counter. we have also recently put a fire table on the porch, which uses propane. the tank may need filling, which is available 1/4 mile from the house at the nearby market, which is usually open late. DIY also sells propane by the gallon to refill our tank.
We accept well behaved, house trained dogs, for an extra cost of 15$/pet/night
The peaceful remoteness of this little oasis is unparalleled. Step outside into serene and unspoiled natural beauty. No matter what time of year, the porch is a theater of wild life - eagles, pelicans, swan, mallard ducks, fish boiling - a symphony echoing across the lake.

Beautifull view, peaceful location , yummie snacks, great host, cozy cabin! All you want for a nice getaway! Would love to come back!
We had an amazing time during our stay at Lisa's cabin. It was Valentine's Day weekend, and we were greeted with a care package full of treats. The cabin itself had everything we needed, from kitchen supplies to towels to amazing outdoor space to relax. It may sound silly, but Lisa has several large blankets that we still talk about. They were so comfy and perfect for wrapping around while sitting by the fire pit enjoying a glass of wine and talking. We will definitely go back to Lisa's cabin again.
The house is awesome and Lisa is extremely helpful!! My girlfriend and I stayed here and she said YES to my wedding !!! Definitlybgonna be back!! For our ANNIVERSARY!!
Lisa was such a great host! She was very quick with communication which made it very easy to book cabin and feel comfortable. When my family and I walked into the cabin, we all thought it was so beautiful. The pictures really don't show how great this place really looks and feels. It is extremely clean and has great flowing energy. You know how some cabins can feel stale, this place feels like it is very well manicured and taken great care of. The kitchen was stocked with all pots pans and utensils which made it awesome to cook dinner and breakfast. I thought of bringing games but there was a closet stocked with family fun board games! The lake was beautiful in the morning and the deck is really nice. I really do not have any complaints. If I had to say 1 thing as a heads up, I would only say the bunk bed shakes back in forth a bit when you climb up or toss in your sleep. Feels like it could break. Lisa was also extremely flexible and and amazing about checkout time as well. I would DEFINITELY encourage you to stay at the cabin home! I know I will. Thanks for everything Lisa!!!
Lisa was a great host even prior to our stay. She was very responsive and accommodating to any and all of our special requests. Upon arrival, we were very pleased with the beautiful cabin and its views. This place is perfect for dog owners!
We booked the cabin for MLK weekend and we couldn't have been happier. There were 2 families my wife and I with out 5 month old daughter and a couple with their 5 year old son. The cabin was plenty big enough for all of us. The location was great not to close to the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to drive to slopes and town when needed. Lisa was great I had a few questions for her and she answered them ASAP. I would recommend this cabin for winter or summer it has a great deck and a nice spa. The cabin was very homie it felt like a home away from home. Can't wait to return. Thanks for the great stay. John and friends!!
Lisa was a fantastic host! She was very responsive and very easy to work with. She was even kind enough to offer us a delayed/late check-out which really made the difference for our trip (a few extra hours really goes a long way on a weekend trip; It felt like we were able to get in an extra day which was awesome).
Her place is extremely well-furnished and definitely has a nice home feel to it. We found everything we needed, plus extra. Her front yard is huge and the jacuzzi view of the lake is hard to beat. Other places I've stayed at usually have DVDs on hand, but Lisa's place has plenty of movies directly available from the provider (meaning much more selection).
TLDR; I would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering :)

I live in the main house, in front of our place that we rent, with my husband, 15 year old son, our small pup, named Puppy. I am an artist working in film and television on special projects such as portraits, murals, and myriad hand painted props. On weekends in the winter i work on ski patrol at Bear Mountain - 2 hours away. My husband is a family practice doctor, and we both love the great outdoors. Listing on Airbnb has provided us with the amazing opportunity to meet people from all over. It has been enriching and rewarding to connect with different ages, cultures and personalities. We are interested in travel, sports of all kinds and have a sense of adventure. we love cultural exchange and are eager to hear different points of view. we look forward to meeting you.....
