About this listing
Sweeping lake/mt views! New solar panels, & enclosed yard, this secluded gem is a rare beauty...a symphony of nature, combined with the comforts of an upgraded cabin (spa/deck/bar-b-q) that is something to behold! Breathtaking views of lake & mountains it's hard to believe you are just minutes to the village & slopes, & just 2 hours drive from LA!
Experience Big Bear Lake from this rare and awe-inspiring cozy cabin. Exquisitely appointed, our 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin is tucked away off the beaten path on a cul-de-sac that combines serenity with proximity. While just a few minutes drive to the village and slopes, the view from the house (and hot tub on the porch) is a panorama of nature - lake and mountains. Though just two blocks off the main road, it is light years away from civilization. We have recently fenced in the yard so that pets can have an enclosed area to run.
The 900sf house has a magnificent Big Bear Lake stone fireplace, with an adjustable stove insert, which provides ambience and supplemental heat to the central wall heater. So cozy to have the heat from the fireplace heating the entire cabin! The 'master' bedroom has a natural reclaimed wood king bed (brand new mattress) and flat screen TV. The second bedroom sports a natural log bunk bed that has brand new double size mattresses on bottom AND top. Also in this room is a twin trundle bed, flat screen TV, and new washer/dryer in the closet.
The vaulted cathedral pine ceilings are bright and spacious, and the kitchen looks over the counter into the living room to create warmth and openness. In the kitchen are granite countertops, 4 lake-view windows, lake view sliding glass doors, a dishwasher and disposal, microwave, oven, stove, espresso machine, coffee maker, - fully stocked for all your cooking needs. The living room has two sleeper sofas, each opens to a double bed. There is a one car garage with ample parking outside.
As a convenience for our guests, we have beautiful firewood available in the garage available for 20$/day. This just covers our cost and is super convenient. We have a brand new bar-b-q and propane tank. Propane can be added as needed 1/4 mile from the house at the nearby Lakeview Market, which is usually open late.
We accept well behaved, house trained dogs.
The peaceful remoteness of this little oasis is unparalleled. Step outside into serene and unspoiled natural beauty. No matter what time of year, the porch is a theater of wild life - eagles, pelicans, swan, mallard ducks, fish boiling - a symphony echoing across the lake.
there is a touch pad on the front door which has a coded security system.
Please be mindful of keeping the spa locked ANYTIME not in use. The cable just stays where it is when opening the top.
...has a mode button on the left with a downward facing arrow. press this 3 times until it reads the current temp. then go to the right side and press the on button with the upward facing arrow until it reads 101 degrees... the spa takes approximately 3-4 hours to heat up.
Interaction with guests
I take a great deal of pride in making sure everything runs smoothly, and that our guests have all that they need. I can usually be reached right away, and have included contact numbers for my son and daughter who can also help...
Although we are just minutes from the village and the slopes, we are off the beaten path and feel light years away from civilization! A rare combination!

I live in Santa Monica, in front of our place that we rent, with my husband, 16 year old son, our small pup, named Puppy, our other small pup named Honey Bear. I am an artist working in film and television on special projects such as portraits, murals, and myriad hand painted props. On weekends in the winter I work on the National Ski Patrol at Bear Mountain in Big Bear Lake - 2 hours away. My husband is a family practice doctor, and we both love the great outdoors. Listing on Airbnb has provided us with the amazing opportunity to meet people from all over. It has been enriching and rewarding to connect with different ages, cultures and personalities. We are interested in travel, sports of all kinds and have a sense of adventure. we love cultural exchange and are eager to hear different points of view. we look forward to meeting you.....
