Kate and Mike have a lovely place, and we really enjoyed our stay. The room is clean, spacious and beautiful, with an amazing view of the water. We didn't have a car, but there's a great dial-a-ride service available on weekdays that'll take you anywhere on the island for $2, so we still got a chance to explore downtown by the ferry terminal. Would definitely stay here again!
Great hosts, and fantastic place to stay. Quiet, cozy, upstairs room with warm heated tile floors. Perfect little deck and with a view of the water. Best time of year to enjoy an amazing garden filled with flowers blooming. Close walk to the beach and coffee shop.
Lovely time, beautiful home, and corkscrew! Comfortable, spacious, and warm.
Great place with a great location! Michael and Kate were friendly, inviting and willing to answer any questions we had. The room was lovely and very private. Location is close driving distance from down town and the ferry terminal.
I spent my night there with the love of my life. The place was amazing. Super clean, safe and quiet. Kate is very nice person. She welcomed us and she made us feel home. We loved everything in there. My girlfriend and I would love to live there forever :). Thank you so much Kate for everything.
We were so sad to have to leave this amazing stay!
Kate and her husband were there to greet us and welcomed us into their home enthusiastically. The guest house felt like a private bungalow at the Ritz Carlton in Hawaii, but the view was all Bainbridge island. Tea and coffee were provided and the bed was comfortable but a little wobbly. Bathroom was downstairs with heated floors that were much appreciated. Be very careful navigating in the dark, Kate's husband seems to be a wonderful carpenter and he had a working shop that's closed off by large curtains near the bathroom. I don't know how, but a loose screw on the floor found the bottom of my foot in the night and it took all I had to not yell out in pain into the night to alarm the neighborhood. I used the provided flashlight, but be sure to turn on the lights fully and watch the floor downstairs during your stay.
Our stay here was a definite highlight of our two week Pacific NW road trip. The garden and blooming flowers were beautiful surrounding the home and on our quick walk to the rocky beach 5 mins away. We hunted the shore for treasure for a bit and then drove into the main stretch of town for lunch and one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life (blackbird deli I believe? BLT with egg)
Kate was warm and hospitable and her garden is lovely. From the 2nd floor deck, there's a great view of the water between the trees. The neighborhood is quiet. The Rolling Bay coffeehouse and nearby Italian restaurant are an easy 10 minute walk from the room. The room was spacious and filled with natural light. Plan to return next time we're on Bainbridge.
