About this listing
*Please make sure you have filled out your AirBnb profile completely before requesting a booking, we have shared details about ourselves, and would like to know who you are, too. Thanks.*
Fully furnished, bright, basement suite located inner city, and close to everything.
We are a half hour walk to downtown, and all the river pathways, or a 10 minute bus ride. The grocery store is one block away, and there are many restaurants in the area that we would love to recommend. There is parking for one car on the street. We are also located in the Car2Go home zone.
The suite has one bedroom, one bathroom, and a separate living/kitchen area that has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. Linens, shampoo, and basic spices are all here for you. There is a small tv with basic cable and a selection of dvd's and books, as well as wifi. The bedroom has a double bed, and the futon in the living room can convert to another double bed. Although it is in the basement, there are large above ground windows that make it nice and bright.
In the summer, you are welcome to enjoy our back yard with a BBQ and small deck. Laundry can be arranged if you would like to use it.
We are located on a quiet street in the neighbourhood of Tuxedo Park. We are a 20 minute drive from the airport, and right off of the main highway that will take you straight to the mountains. There is also an airport express bus that will drop you off 3 blocks from our place if you do not have a car.
Along with 2 traditional supermarkets in walking distance, we also have 2 Italian supermarkets, and an Asian supermarket to walk to as well. Starbucks and Tim Horton's are both walkable. We love coffee shops, and would love to recommend some local ones if that's what you're into.
It's very easy to get to the Stampede grounds from our place (you can even walk if you're the walking type it takes about 45mins) It's just one bus downtown, and you can transfer to the LRT train, 2 stops and you're there. The LRT will take you to a lot of places in town. If you are doing a day downtown, it's free in the city's core.
We are a quiet couple, with one friendly dog, looking forward to sharing our city with travelers from all over. We love to stay in self catering apartments when we go away, prompting us to list ours. Though my spoken french is rusty, I can understand it, if that helps at all. We will do our best to make sure you have a wonderful stay in our home.
Please treat our home as you would your own, and respect it.
No drugs, smoking, or parties, and please discuss laundry with us prior to using it.
Please observe a quiet time from 11pm on in the evenings.
Mind the dog, and please don't let him out of the back yard.
What a great first-time experience with Airbnb. Everything about the suite was perfect including the central location. Teslin was a great host and we cannot wait until the next time we visit Calgary so we can book with her again.
Teslin's suite was absolutely perfect. After a long day of traveling from the states, it was so nice to come to our own private apartment. The suite was stocked with everything we needed and was way better than a hotel! We only stayed two nights, but when we chatted with Teslin, she was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this suite to others!
We had a great time in Calgary because our stay in this apartment felt like home. Especially we loved the silence. Although it is a small apartment, we had everything that we needed. The kitchen is fully equiped. The apartment was clean, comfortable and close to Calgary Downtown (just a 20 min. walk).
Staying at Teslin's suite was awesome! It was super cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. Much better than staying at a hotel! Nice, quiet neighbourhood, free parking and convenient location to the places we were going.
The suite itself was clean, bright and very comfortable. Having the kitchen was great since we prefer to buy groceries as opposed to eating out when travelling. Kitchen was well stocked with the essentials - and even a couple of cookbooks, should the mood have struck us! Love the colour and the hardwood floors.
This was exactly what we were looking for!
Teslin's very sweet and charming suite far exceeded our expectations! It had absolutely everything we needed, and more, for our 5 night stay in (website hidden) our own food is a big priority for us when we travel due to some dietary restrictions so we were thrilled to find everything we needed to cook at home. We were in town to attend a family wedding and Teslin was so gracious enough to let us do laundry, hang it out to dry, and even use her iron! We honestly couldn't have found a better place to fit our needs.
Although just stayed only two nights in Teslin’s cozy apartment it was the best way to start our holiday in Canada. With her description it was easy to find and we had no problems to enter the apartment even we arrived in the evening.
The kitchenette was well equipped and all rooms in good condition. I can highly recommend staying here.
Unfortunately Teslin was not around as we been there but she always replied very friendly and helpful to our emails.
Wonderful stay. Teslin provided great communication right from the start and made us feel very welcome once we arrived. The studio is lovely, even nicer than it looks in the photos. Comfy bed, great shower and good kitchen if you feel like cooking. There were lots of thoughtful little touches too like local guidebooks, toiletries and magazines. Teslin also gave us some great recommendations for places to eat in the local area. Finally, great location, easy bus connection from airport and not far to walk to Downtown etc. Thanks again Teslin!
About the Host, Teslin
I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. I love to travel, and decided to list my space on Airbnb after having such a great experience having booked a place to stay in Hawaii on it.
I truly love where I live, and am excited to share it with others. I am a quiet individual, with one medium size, friendly dog. Some of my favorite things to do are spending mornings at one of my favorite coffee shops, walking my dog while through older neighbourhods looking at houses, and planning my next travel adventure.
When I travel, I really like to get a feel for "the real" place, and rarely do touristy things. One of my favorite things to do, while traveling, is visit the supermarket. I also love just wandering the streets of new places and discovering things that way. That being said, I would also love to be able to recommend some great things to do and see in my city, there are so many! My favorite travel destination, so far, has been Greece.
