Jonathan was a great host, he welcomed us with a bottle of wine and a nice note with great recommendations of places to eat/drink, etc. all within walking distance from this house. Not only was the home beautiful and just as pictured/described in the listing but the location was PERFECT for our group which consisted of my fiance and I, along with my parents for a long, Jazz Fest weekend. Magazine Street is literally steps away so finding someplace for everyone to agree on for a meal and a drink or 2 at the end of the day was super easy. Not to mention that the driveway with space enough to park 2 cars in was a HUGE perk.
This house was truly a home away from home for a few days, beautifully renovated and furnished. I'd definitely recommend this gem of a historic New Orleans home to those who want more of a local experience than you are going to get staying in a hotel downtown.
This house was AWESOME and location was excellent! Great restaurants and bars just a short walk away. Jonathan was a great host and I would book definitely book this house again. Thanks for the wine and beers!!
Excellent home in the perfect place. Centrally located to everything and just steps away from the coolest part of town, Magazine St. Quiet and friendly neighborhood with gated parking. The house is comfortably and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend this amazing house.
Jonathan was very communicative and helpful, and his house was every bit as beautiful as the pictures. I would recommend it to anyone.
Jonathan's description of his place was accurate, and he was laid-back and helpful during the whole process. He was quite flexible about check-in and check-out times, which was nice for a family of 4. The bedrooms were both extremely comfortable, as was the couch where the youngest sibling slept. All the furnishings were very high quality, and the decor was tasteful. Large TV & good cable selection if you feel like lying around and watching sports or movies. Best part about this listing is the location - steps from Magazine St. and some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. My parents (mid 60s) especially appreciated not having to take cabs or drive everywhere. Quiet at night, with a gated driveway to park a car. Central air (no window units here) and fans in every room were great when we had an unseasonably warm & humid December day.
The only thing to consider is there is only one bathroom - if you have people in your party that require a lot of prep time, it may slow down your departure. Otherwise, our stay could not have been better.
There were 2 couples who just stayed in Jonathan's place in NOLA and it was awesome!
The best thing about his place is the location-it is right off Magazine Street-coffee shops, bars, shopping, and great food! It was easy to catch a cab, walk to St. Charles Ave for the streetcar, or a couple of blocks from the Hop On-Hop Off bus. Which made getting around the city incredibly easy. (if you want to venture off Magazine Street)
The house was the perfect size for our needs-even with 2 couples, the one bathroom was still fine. Lots of living space, with great decor, and awesome artwork!
Jonathan was very helpful and always easy to get a hold of if we had questions.
