Interaction with guests
I've found that some guests like their privacy and some like to interact. I'm flexible either way. I really enjoy hosting people and sharing travel stories. I am always willing to provide suggestions of things to do while you are in Austin.
Other things to note
Since I've traveled quite a bit myself I offer some things that I think most travelers will find useful like extra pillows, blankets, alarm clock, fans, writing desk, hanging hooks, night lights, air fresheners, iron and ironing board, city maps, travel books and magazines
I keep some toiletries around which are available complimentary to my guests. I have an official operating license with the City of Austin.
I have traveled all around the world, but have chosen Austin as my home. I've created a home that is welcoming to guests from both near and far. I hope that you enjoy your stay in Austin.
Here are some references from guests that I have hosted:
We stayed with Troy for 2 nights in Austin Texas. Troy was a great host, so helpful with everything (including shipping left clothing half way across the country). He was awesome to hang out with and gave us a real Texas experience :) Thanks Troy !!! Highly recommended. - Zoe from Arona, Spain
We stayed with Troy for 3 days. When we got there, Troy himself had just returned from a 16 months journey, but still had the energy to host us. Amazing :) Besides that Troy is very kind, helpful and trustful. He has a great way of seeing life, and we found him pretty inspiring. Troy is always welcome in Denmark. - Pia from Aarhus, Denmark
Troy is truly a generous guy who puts his guests and his friends comfort before his personal needs. Very well traveled with a progressive view of the world and a positive outlook. Highly recommended. Thanks Troy! Pat from Montreal, Quebec
Troy hosted me very well in Austin for 4 days. He's very kind and friendly. He has a lot of nice travel experiences and it was nice to share with him. - Fabio from Sao Paolo, Brazil.
I’ve written this info to help make your stay an enjoyable one. If this is your first airbnb experience, welcome to the community. I think that you will find that each airbnb experience is personal and unique. It is not quite like staying at a hotel, bed and breakfast or hostel. It is more like staying at a friend or relative’s house… without the squabbles. If you are an experienced community member of airbnb, I hope that you too will find this experience uniquely Austin. If there is something that I can do to make your stay more comfortable please let me know.
At the same time, as a host I have found it useful to share some of my preferences and house rules. It saves us from having an awkward conversation later.
Please Do: Use the kitchen and appliances for light cooking. Store any food and drinks you may buy in the kitchen. Help yourself to the free snacks, coffee and tea that is on the counter. Make use of the shared spaces – living room, television, dining room, bathroom and backyard.
Please Don’t: Leave the kitchen dirty. Cook large, greasy or strong smelling meals. Store any food in your room. Eat or drink my private food and beverages. Smoke or do drugs in my home. Bring other guests into my home without prior approval. Enter my private rooms that basically are my bedroom and study.
If you are new to airbnb and do not have your profile filled out or references I may request that you submit proof of identity prior or upon arrival. Proof of identity may be a valid driver license, passport or photo ID. To promote safety for my guests, house and neighborhood, I do request the full names of every individual whom will be staying in the house and the license plate of any vehicles that may be parked on the premises.
I try to live by these principles… Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Leave no trace. Take only pictures. Don't worry... be happy.
I may or may not be able to show you around, but I'm happy to provide suggestions of things to do.
My guest room is designed to comfortably fit two people. Additional guests are $29/person/night.

I think that I am a pretty ordinary person, but I know that I have lived an extraordinary life. I'm a young professional and media producer. My passions include adventure travel, backpacking, cooking, fly fishing, motorcycling and playing just about any sport. I'm a Native Texan which means that I am honest, gentlemanly, proud, strong willed, entrepreneurial and adventurous. I was born and raised in Texas and now call Austin, Texas my home.
I have been fortunate enough to live in and travel through a number of countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Some of my favorite places include Chile for it's natural beauty, Spain for it's old world charm, Singapore for it's modernity and Austin, Texas, USA for it's warm friendly people.
I'm a traveler. Drop me off anywhere in the world and I will find my way. I'm more comfortable living out of one bag than living in my own house. As long as it is not moving, I'll eat it. I love trying to communicate with someone when we do not share a common language.
When I am in Austin, I enjoy hosting people in my home. I've lived in Austin long enough to know about both the interesting tourists activities and the places where only locals frequent.
I hope to meet you soon.
“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson
