Calling all Adult City Slickers,
Come live a life of horseback riding, goat milking, egg collecting, tractor driving ..you can do all the farm chores and we'll just sit back and relax! (kidding) It's so quiet out here, (except for the donkeys and roosters!)
Please be a total non- smoker. This room is intended for 2 but will accommodate 4, on air mattresses. There is an additional fee for each person after 2.
We run an animal rescue and your dog is welcome; please see the rules.
No children.

The space
We call this "Slice of Heaven " for a very good reason! We also have a second property now, called "Slice of Heaven Ranch Two".. look for it in the listings in Herald if this one is booked!
If you're headed to anywhere in the greater Sacramento area, ( including Elk Grove, Wilton, Galt, Lodi, & Rancho Murieta), our farm is about 35 miles south of the capitol, in the rural town of Herald... but well worth the commute if you're in town on business or pleasure. We offer a large room with private bath and separate entrance off of a sun deck. THIS IS A WORKING RANCH (not suitable for children) with all the "charm" that goes with it. We have horses, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. Overnight horse bosrding available! You should be an animal enthusiast to take full advantage of this wonderful 8 - acre property.

THE RESCUE and YOUR DOG
We are a non-profit corporation functioning as a rescue and sanctuary for dogs, cats and horses. We are respectful of our guests, keeping the dogs under control while out for limited exercise or in the kennels. YOUR DOG is welcome, but please keep him/her on leash until we can see how they'll all get along. Requirements: Spayed/Neutered. This is not just about safety, it's a philosophy and is non-negotiable. Please send documentation of surgery and vaccinations against Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella, before arrival.

Plenty of places to walk, sit, meditate and participate. RIDING lessons available!, BBQ, lounge chairs, and baby goats born in the spring!
This farm-ranch is best suited for people who love nature and the outdoors... and with all the fresh air and hard work around here.. we generally wind down somewhat early in the evening. Please be here by 9:00 pm!! (There's no TV in the room, sorry) Please contact us with any questions.. we'd love to hear from you! Shelley

I'm from Herald, a small, rural community about 35 miles southeast of Sacramento. We operate a goat and horse ranch; teach riding lessons, as well as a dog and cat animal shelter. I love animals and nature and starting a flower farm... life's better after 50!
