Calling all Adult City Slickers,
Come live a life of horseback riding, goat milking, egg collecting, tractor driving ..you can do all the farm chores and we'll just sit back and relax! (kidding)
Please be a total non- smoker. This room is intended for 2 but will accommodate 4, on air mattresses. There is an additional fee for each person after 2.
You should be comfortable with dogs and cats, as we run an animal rescue. This property is not for children.

The space
We call this "Slice of Heaven " for a very good reason! We also have a second room now, called "More Slice of Heaven Ranch".. look for it in the listings in Herald.
If you're headed to anywhere in the greater Sacramento area, ( including Elk Grove, Wilton, Galt, Lodi, & Rancho Murieta), our farm is about 35 miles south of the capitol, in the rural town of Herald... but well worth the commute if you're in town on business or pleasure. We offer a large room with private bath and separate entrance off of a sun deck. THIS IS A WORKING RANCH (not suitable for small children)
with all the "charm" that goes with it. We have horses, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. OVERNIGHT HORSE BOARDING available! You should be an animal enthusiast to take full advantage of this wonderful 8 - acre property.
YOUR DOG, spayed/neutered, is welcome, on approval, up-to date on required vaccinations, and non- aggressive toward other dogs, cats, chickens and livestock.
A$25. cleaning fee per dog, will be charged.
We are a non-profit corporation functioning as a rescue and sanctuary for dogs, cats and horses. We are respectful of our guests, keeping the dogs under control while out for limited exercise or in the kennels. Your dog is welcome, but please keep him or her on leash until we can see how they'll all get along. Plenty of places to walk, sit, meditate and participate. RIDING lessons available!, BBQ, lounge chairs, and baby goats born in the spring!
This farm-ranch is best suited for people who love nature and the outdoors... and with all the fresh air and hard work around here.. we generally wind down somewhat early in the evening. Please be here by 9:00 pm!! (There's no TV in the room, sorry) Please contact us with any questions.. we'd love to hear from you! Shelley

Walnut Grove, Laguna, Davis, Roseville, Granite Bay, and Ione.

Guest access
We love to share the property with adult guests. In colder months, meals will be served in the dining room but in the summer you'll be served at the picnic table under the shady mulberry tree. Because of dogs and other pets, the main house is not accessible to guests..
Please be an absolute non-smoker.
This room has wheelchair access and assistance bars in the toilet area and in the shower.

Other things to note
Please be an absolute non- smoker. No exceptions.
We love children but this isn't the place for kids, please!
RIding Lessons!!
One-on-one instruction both arena and trail riding.
The fee is $65. for approximately a 90 min session both in the arena and on a trail ride..all skill levels!

Our "neighborhood" is the countryside. We share a fence with only one other ranch and the other three sides are fields.
We welcome guests checking in between the hours of 3pm to 9 pm .

I'm from Herald, a small, rural community about 35 miles southeast of Sacramento. We operate a goat and horse ranch; teach riding lessons, as well as a dog and cat animal shelter. I love animals and nature and starting a flower farm... life's better after 50!
