About this listing
I listened to my guests when they told me the living room sofabed was no longer comfortable - I bought a new sofa bed with chaise lounger & coffee table.
Bigger windows were installed. Freshly painted throughout. Clean!!

Interaction with Guests
This is a an opportunity for our guests to explore all that Ottawa has to offer without interruption though we are always only a text, email or phone call away.
An eclectic, thriving, bustling downtown location within walking distance of all major attractions including the Byward market, Parliament Hill, Rideau canal, Rideau Centre. Close (3 blocks) to a major 24 hour grocery store. Restaurants, banks, post office, pharmacy, library, and a movie theatre are all within 3 blocks of the front door.
Four major bus routes steps from the front door. Cabs are easy to flag too. But, most of my guests walk to the major attractions (and maybe bus home after a long, tiring day!) I provide detailed information on the bus system including what buses will take you home and the names of the bus stops.
Check-in is anytime after 3 pm. Check out is anytime up to 11 am. Due to lack of space, we are not able to store luggage.
The condo is NOT for parties, get-togethers, stags, bachelor/ette gatherings, prom nights, dinner/cocktail parties, etc. The number of people in the home at any time must not exceed the maximum number allowed to stay overnight.
We ask that our guests be respectful of our home, the furnishings and supplies, and also respectful of our fellow condo owners. Excessive noise will not be tolerated. Quiet time starts at 11 pm every night.
Please leave the home in the same condition it was when you arrived. Collect up all garbage and recycling and leave in the bins in the kitchen. Wash your dishes.
Smoking is prohibited inside the building.
Pets, though we love them, are not able to stay in our heritage building.
Catherine made sure everything was perfect for our arrival and provided us all the info we needed for a comfortable stay. Inside the apartment there were all the necessary appliances for a great stay as well as nice insights on what to see and do in the area.
We stayed at Catherine's little apartment for one night. It was clean, tidy, cute and nicely located. Variety of restaurant places walking distance from the apartment. It was a bit tight for 4, but we highly recommend it.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. I have made some changes to the apartment and removed some pieces of furniture so that it now is easier to store your luggage when this apartment, that is ideal for two people, is being used by four people. Great way to save money though!
The rooms are very clean and well decorated. Very suitable for a family to stay for a few nights. The location is awesome! I can easily walk to Rideau Centre and Parliament Hills. Will come and stay for second time again!
Merci Catherine!
I'm not sure how to rate this one. On one hand Catherine works really hard to make her space inviting and cozy (and it really shows!), on the other hand it was a bit too cozy, in a suffocating kind of way. Very cute place, thoughtful collection of pointers, directions, kitchen supplies, clean and luxurious linens, even games for kids of all ages. Unfortunately, the apartment is so tiny that it should only fit about 1/3 of everything it does now. We had absolutely no place to put our bags, clothes, etc. (We only had two small carry-on sized suitcases and a backpack -- cant imagine you could fit anything larger and still breathe.) We were tripping over our and her things non stop. It felt suffocating to be in there. We were very glad that it was a very short stay. Location is OK. About half an hour walk to parliament hill. Overall a very clean and thoughtful place, but not one I would choose to stay in ever again. Thank you.
I am thrilled that this guest found so many positive things to say about this apartment. The condo is a 10-15 minute walk from the Byward market, university of Ottawa, Rideau canal (for boating or skating). I am sorry that she found the space to be too small for her needs. This is a one bedroom (queen bed) apartment that also happens to have a sofa bed in the living room. It is not tiny for a one bedroom apartment in the heart of the city but that is subjective for every person. The majority of our guests find its size to be comfortable and accommodating.
We found the apartment perfect for our needs, We rented the place on a hot summer day, the AC was already on for us before we arrived (very thoughtful ). The place was clean and exactly as described. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Will absolutely stay here if we return to Ottawa.
This is an small appartment that is part of a cute little building on a big street. Perfect for a couple. 20 minutes walk to the Byward Market. The instructions left by Catherine where very clear and we appreciated the rental parking space (10$ per night) at the motel near the place.

About the Host, Catherine
Karma is everything. How we treat strangers is a true reflection of who we are.
I offer unique, super clean, and well equipped rental properties in Ottawa and I take my responsibilities seriously.
When I travel and stay in private homes I expect to have all the basics available (like spices, coffee, teas, sugar, bathroom tissue, laundry soap) as well as finding the kitchen to have an abundance of pots/pans, knives, serving bowls, baking sheets, casserole dishes, etc.
Since I have found this is not always the case, I understand how disappointing that can be, so I tend to go overboard and offer everything I can think of.
I am a retired interior designer and a Cordon Bleu grand diplome chef. I have taken my training and experience from these two fields and applied it to offering the best accommodations for my guests, including a well-stocked kitchen! :-))
