About This Listing
Beautiful en-suite bedroom with panoramic sea views overlooking Galway Bay. This room can sleep up to three people. We are located just outside the picturesque fishing village of Kinvara, Co Galway. A delicious breakfast is served each morning and we have free Wireless Internet access. We are central to the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Ailwee Caves, Lisdoonvarna, Aran Islands and Galway City. We are located on a remote peninsula so you will "NEED A CAR" to get here.
Our B&B is called Breacan Cottage. Our address is Parkmore, Doorus, Kinvara, Co Galway.
You drive through the village towards the Burren on the N67 for about 4 km and turn right at a sign called Knockgearra. You will see my B&B signs en- route. We are located on the same road as Doorus Youth Hostel. Just drive to the end of that road and we are the last house on the left overlooking the sea.
This little cottage is located on a little finger shaped peninsula and pier in Galway. The accommodations were charming and comfortable--we stayed in a room with great views and a pitched ceiling. Geraldine and her husband were incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us directions to sites and even called in a favor for a very special restaurant on the sea (LinAnnes)to let us arrive and dine later than normal. Breakfast was made to order and we went full Irish breakfast (amazing) one day and super healthy (porridge and fruit) the next. Coffee was good and strong. Geraldine has a tremendous sense of humor and obviously loves being the consummate host. If you want charming, a bit off the tourist track, peace and great beauty, this is where you should stay in Galway.
Thank you for your kind remarks Sophia. The secret to my scrambled eggs are butter and cream, salt and black pepper are added and don't overcook it as it becomes dry. Cook on very low heat and remove from heat when eggs are still in a semi liquid state. Leave for about 3 minutes and stir. The residual heat will cook it. My dad was the head chef in the biggest hotel in Galway city for 40 years. That is where I got my tips from. My recipe is no longer a secret obviously!
We had a wonderfull stay at the seeside. The view was fantastic. We had a warm welcome and the breakfast was exellent. We had a double room with a private bathroom and a single room for our dauther wich was very tidy. THX Geraldine and Noël.
Geraldine is an artist, and it shows. This is one of the nicest houses I have seen, and certainly the prettiest B&B I have stayed in. She and Noel built this house to look like an old Irish cottage on the outside, and it is immediately noticeable how much thought was given to every detail: the tiled floors, the woodwork, the design...
As a guest, I experienced the same attention to detail in the way I found my room. Also, the breakfast options were beyond standard, and Geraldine made everything just right.
Apparently, some guests blame Geraldine for the rain, so it's only fair to give her credit for the sunshine, the views, and the beautiful Burren landscapes in her backyard as well.
I warmly recommend this place to everyone!
This is a beautiful part of the world and a lovely well run B&B. Geraldine and Noel were so kind and thoughtful - one of our party was ill and they helped us get to an after hours doctor at night - thanks so much, we wouldn't have found it ourselves on those windy narrow roads at night! Lovely room and bathroom fabulous huge breakfast and this would be a great area to spend a few days. Thanks for all your help and such a lovely stay.
A beautiful and peaceful place to stay in Ireland! Geraldine is very kind and her home is very clean and with a very beautiful views. I recommend this B&B!
Geraldine and Noel are real great hosts and make you feel very much at home. We were treated with tea in the garden with a gorgeous view on the sea right upon arrival. Our bedroom was bright, cozy and tastefully furnitured with lovely pictures all over. Everything was so tidy and clean and made you feel comfortable. It felt like living in a very neat dollhouse. Breakfast was also outstanding!! Yammie!!
Geraldine and Noel you are so special and lovabale and we thank you for giving us a home during our first days in Ireland. We will not forget you and hope to be back for a longer stay.
With love from Charlotte and Silvia
