Sacramento Street, where our home is located, is a wonderful street in Cambridge. It is in the desirable Agassiz-Baldwin neighborhood, which is filled with many beautiful turn-of-the-century homes. Right off Massachusetts Avenue, and halfway between Harvard and Porter Squares (about a 12-minute walk to each), Sacramento Street is near many restaurants and stores, and the location of the Agassiz-Baldwin Community Center, the Chandler Art Gallery, the Maud Morgan Visual Arts Center, and the Sacramento Street Community Garden.
Our home is ideally located, minutes away by foot from Harvard University, Harvard Law School, Harvard Divinity School, Lesley University, and a short ride to MIT or Tufts. We are also just a 12-minutes walk to the T stations at Harvard or Porter Squares.
The room is available for $110 per night for single occupancy. Additional occupants are $15 each.
Our maximum occupancy is two people, with the exception of family groups. For family groups, we have a queen-sized Aerobed available which will allow up to four people total to sleep in the room.
We have off-street parking available for a cost of $5/night. This is not included in the Airbnb fee, and if you choose to use this, you can pay me cash for it at the time of your stay.
Check-out is by 12 noon, but depending on the time the next guest is arriving this check-out time may be flexible. Also, if you want leave your bags at our home past check-out time, we're happy to have you do that until you're ready to pick them up.
Guests have access to the guest room and adjoining private bathroom, and in nice weather are welcome to sit in our back yard, where you can still get wi-fi. We are happy to have guests stop back in our kitchen or living room to chat, but most don't and there is zero pressure to do so.
Interaction with Guests
We love meeting our guests! We've met wonderful people from all over the world. But, after you "check-in," how much you interact with us will be up to you. We lead busy lives and aren't always home. The way to the guest room is quick from the front door, and you won't always see us when you come in or leave. We love to get to know our guests, but it's not unusual to have people stay who meet us at "check-in" and who we then see just see in passing thereafter.
A fantastic neighborhood! The best in Cambridge, in my opinion. In short walking distance to Harvard Square and the T, and also to Harvard and Lesley Univeristites. There are tons of great restaurants and shops also close by in walking distance. There's also a great playground 1/2 block from our house.
Our house is very convenient to the T, which is the subway system that serves the Boston area. From our house, you can walk about 12-minutes either way to the Harvard or Porter Square T stops on the Red line. There is also easy bus service on Massachusetts Avenue, which is about a 4-minute walk from our house. If you are bringing your own car, parking is available to you in our driveway for $5/day.
-- Please turn off the lights when you go out.
-- Please lock the door behind you.
-- No smoking in the house.
-- The paper bags found next to the bathroom trash bin can be used for recycling (more paper bags can be found in the drawers). Cambridge has "single stream" recycling, which means that different kinds of recycling can be placed in the same bag. Items that can be recycled include: clean bottles, cans, papers, cardboard, empty pizza boxes (oil stains OK), spiral cans (potato chip, nut cans), empty paper coffee cups, frozen food boxes (if it rips). All this can be placed in the same bag. No plastic bags, no Styrofoam, no liquids, no food waste.

The room was very nice and the bathroom very new. My flight go in really late and Kristin stayed up to meet me.
Kristin greeted us upon arrival and made us feel welcome with her relaxed yet clear manner. The room was pretty and spacious. Our stay was very comfortable. The mattress is firm in a good way. Shades block out street light. The house is located on a lovely quiet street - and very convenient to both Harvard and Porter Square. We enjoyed a short walk to our favorite coffee shop(Forge on Somerville Ave) My husband and i will definitely return on our future visits to Cambridge.
I wish I had longer to stay here in Cambridge! This is a lovely, peaceful room in a great location. It's so easy to walk to Harvard and all the local shops and restaurants around. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a great ensuite shower. Kristin was very good in communication and check in and check out were very smooth and easy. Recommended!
Excellent, sunny room in quiet neighborhood. Kristin was more than accommodating with our late check-in and storing our bags. Her daughter is adorable and they were both so friendly. Breakfast is great and the house is beautiful. Will definitely come back next time we're in the Harvard area!
I felt incredibly welcomed at Kristin's home. The space was gorgeous, spacious, and perfectly located in Cambridge. The room offered a lovely view, a nice private bathroom, a cabinet full of snacks, teas and breakfast foods (including a refrigerator and electric heaters for guests who like to be cozy) and it was overall just wonderful.
I had a very pleasant stay. The neighborhood was convenient for my needs. The host was accommodating to my schedule. Hope to return.
We were very happy to stay at your house. A very cosy place that made us think of houses over here in Belgium.
You were a very nice host. Respect and kindness seem to be your trademark.
Thank you for swiftly replying to our questions on local matters.
Wish you many visitors in the future. They won't feel sorry.

I'm a professional in the health care field. Originally from Connecticut, I lived in New York City for a number of years, working in publishing and video marketing, before going to graduate school in psychology in Colorado and then moving to Cambridge. I am very happy here and highly recommend it! Cambridge is an amazing small city, with an interesting and diverse population. There are always fun and interesting things to do here, including numerous cultural opportunities both here and in nearby Boston.
I've been renting this room out in our home for two years, though I just recently listed it with AirBnB. My family and I have greatly enjoyed meeting many interesting people from all around the United States and the world.
