Sip your morning coffee on top of the glacier-fed Cascade River, a PNW experience like no other! The closest you can stay to the North Cascades National Park and just 2 hours from Seattle. Come experience the American Alps in a full-equipped cabin designed for mindfulness, complete with a wrap-around deck, wood fire stove, full kitchen and bath, high-speed wifi, W/D, and cozy living room and bedroom.
The space
This cabin is located in the off-grid community of Cascade River Community Park just a few miles east of Marblemount, the final town before North Cascades National Park just 15 minutes away (west entrance). The cabin is connected to community freshwater and is powered by onsite solar panels with a backup generator for worry-free power, complete with high-speed Starlink internet for easy video calls and streaming. Note: no pets allowed, sorry!

—Winter Access—
The cabin is located at the base of the mountains at a low elevation just above sea level. It is accessible in the winter through flat and well-maintained roads since there are full-time residents in the community. Snow is always possible, with usually only 2-3 snows per year. 4WD vehicles with chains aren't required, but they are always helpful to have this time of year!
Weather & Travel Note: Winter weather can be unpredictable. If you have concerns about potential weather or travel disruptions, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Refunds are handled according to our cancellation policy unless the cabin becomes inaccessible.
--Riverfront Deck--
You can't get closer to the Cascade River without getting in! The wrap-around deck overhanging the river invites your to enjoy breakfast at the bistro table and listen to the roar of the whitewater rapids from a safe perch above. Get cozy with a book in a comfy cushioned chair and soft throw blanket with no distractions other than watching ducks use river currents as waterslides.
--Kitchen--
A beautifully modern and organic kitchen complete with gas stove, oven, refrigerator and freezer, sink, and every dinnerware piece and utensil you would expect in a normal kitchen. Make coffee three ways with a french press, pour-over, or instant mix, and enjoy a wide selection of teas. Put a meal in the crockpot and return after your hike to a hot and ready meal. Note: due to the off-grid nature of our property, there is no microwave or toaster as both draw too much power.
--Dining--
Enjoy a homemade meal at the round table, a lively game night, or a restful puzzle overlooking the river rapids. 4 cesca-style floating chairs inspired by warm memories of Jasmin's grandparents' home make for a comfortable and relaxing conversation space.
--Living Room--
A neutral color palette with a charming wood stove as a focal point, the living room includes a comfy oversized couch and chair-and-a-half for ultimate coziness. Whether you're cuddling with your boo or lounging with your feet up in the warmth of the fire, you're sure to be relaxed and let your worries float down the river. Grab a book from the wide selection on the bookshelf or enjoy a mind puzzle. For a comfortable sleep, enjoy the easy-pull modern sofa bed with a undeniably comfortable memory foam mattress. Use the folding room divider stored in the closet for added privacy.
--Bedroom--
Inspired by the tranquility and simplicity of Japanese design, the bedroom invites you to unwind under the linen-wood ceiling canopy. Enjoy fresh morning and evening air on the private deck off the bedroom. Get the best night of sleep on a 5-star memory foam mattress under a breathable linen duvet. The bedroom is upstairs and accessed with the loft ladder (railing on both sides). See photos for reference!
--Bathroom--
A modern vanity with ample lighting invites you to prepare for an eventful hike or a relaxing day at the cabin. Enjoy a hot shower with strong water pressure- a must! With the cabin supplying its own power, it can trip with high current draw, so please leave the heat tools at home! No hair dryers, straighteners, or curling irons please.
--Work Space--
A private desk (with two outlets) on the second floor is just one of many possible work spaces around the cabin. Get a second story view of the river and try to spot the two small waterfalls upstream.
--Fire Pit--
Nothing is better than a fire pit except a fire pit without smoke! Equipped with the popular Solo Stove with smokeless technology, comfortably sit close to the fire without getting smoke in your eyes or smelling like you just went on a week-long camping trip. Relax in a sturdy Adirondack chair and grab a poker for that yummy post-hike hot dog under the stars.
Guest access
Guests will have complete and undisturbed access to the cabin, deck, and outdoor areas.
Other things to note
1. There is no service once you leave Marblemount until you get to the cabin (accessed through Wi-Fi), about an 8-minute drive. Please follow the instructions to get the gate key card and directions to the cabin.
2. For a fun activity, we partner with North Cascade Kayaks to offer you 20% off daily rentals! Kayak or SUP gorgeous Diablo Lake and others with self-service pickup in nearby Rockport. Just use our code provided with check-in info when you reserve online at northcascadekayaks (dot com). Note, reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, and the rentals are not allowed in the river.
