We had a great time staying at the #3 unit! It was clean and homey and the complex backyard opens right up onto the beach. After a day of hanging around in the water and tanning, it was nice to be able to walk up some stairs and be in our home space. Catrina was great to work with and very responsive. This unit unfortunately does not face out to the lake, but you really can't beat how close you are to the lake; overall very centrally located to a lot of great spots in the area. As this unit is street parking only, it can be a little hectic if you arrive during a busy time, but it's definitely workable. Would definitely stay at a place of Catrina's again!
The neighborhood was right on the lake. It was great to be able to walk a few steps out of the house and be right on the lake. Parking on the street wasn't too bad.
The positives for staying at this unit were the location and the unit itself.
In the bedroom, it appeared that there was a ceiling fan at one point, but was taken down. Because there was no AC, it would have been nice to have had that ceiling fan in the bedroom.
I wasn't able to meet the host, but we had good communication.
I booked the place because of the location and the hardwood floors, beautiful kitchen and bathroom. I really expected that since I was staying a couple nights that it would have the same amenities as a hotel room (with the benefit of having a full kitchen since I eat healthy and prepare most meals). When I began to unpack my clothes I realized there was no dresser to store them. Next, I opened the closet and there was only one hanger. So, I left my clothes in my travel bag. A few hours later, I was getting ready to take my girlfriend to a special dinner. I pulled my shirt and slacks out of my bag but when I looked for an iron, sadly I realized there was neither an iron or an ironing board. I do have a couple other complaints but will refrain from sharing here and will share with the host directly as they are all fixable. This is the 3rd time I've at an Airbnb property. The first two were really wonderful as the hosts really went out of their way to make my experience special. The feeling I got from staying at this property was that it was about making a profit. I did read other reviews before booking this place and that is one reason I decided to. It got some really good reviews. After I left, I went home to reread the reviews thinking that I missed something. All the reviews were positive. Ok, so it is a nice place, just be sure to ask the host about the concerns that I've expressed before you book.
My stay in Apt #3 was over Valentine's weekend was a positive experience, although there was a few hiccups along the way. We arrived at the unit close to midnight and found that the parking tag was missing, but I was able to get Angie's property manager on the phone even at that hour. He was able to investigate the issue and help me resolve the problem by the next day.
The unit itself is as seen in the pictures, and is nice compared to other Tahoe hotels at the same price point. As others have pointed out in their reviews, this is a downstairs unit so the folks upstairs can definitely be heard walking around. Although that is a slight negative for some people, the place is nice enough that it's not something that was a big deal to me. Would stay at this location again if I find myself up in Tahoe in the future.
