There are plenty of great things to discover in Tangier and around. Beaches, countryside, remains from the international period are a very interesting mix of architectural influences, Tanger offers also a good art and craft,

Very beautifull, quiet and tradditionnal neighbourhood. In the heart of Medina.
The house is located on "Charia Zeitouna" (wich means "olive street") wich is one of the longuest street of the medina joing the upper part to the harbour side.
Everyones knows where it is, you can easily ask for your way if you are lost. Just say "Zaitouna".

A beautiful spacious riad tucked away in the alleyways of the medina, a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants, cinema rif, taxi stands and a sort of grassy park/playground area. Also within walking distance from a beach, although there are much nicer beaches further out if you get a taxi. The alleyways are winding and often quite steep and as the riad has no car access, I wouldn't recommend it if you have trouble walking. We got lost a few times, but found the locals extremely helpful and friendly and after some exploring always found our way back. By day 3 we knew exactly where we were going :)
Cyriac's directions were very good and he always replied to my messages quickly and with all the information I needed. Khadija the housekeeper has no English which made communicating a real challenge but this won't be a problem if you have Arabic, French or Spanish at your disposal.
The important things like the sheets and the showers were clean, and the riad has plenty of books to read, as well as cupboards full of spare bedding and towels. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a good washing machine. The roof terrace has a sea view and is perfect for both the daytime and the evenings. In the daytime the riad is flooded with light....it's beautiful!! If I had one small complaint it would be that some of the funiture felt a little old and the riad sometimes felt a little dusty (on the bannisters etc) and for example the fridge door had dirty fingermarks on it from when we arrived. Apart from that, a lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend especially for a larger family group. Excellent value for money.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location of the Riad was perfect, only 5 minutes away (on foot) from the souk. Great atmosphere, beautifully decorated and clean house with a great rooftop (sea-views).
Definitely recommend it, and would stay there again without a doubt.
I spent an amazing week at Cyriac & Emma's Riad. Right in the middle of the Medina, it is very close from the Casbah, and near Le Petit Soko which the perfect place to do buy what you need. There is also, the famous Café Baba at 3 minutes walk, and Café Affa at 10 minutes. The location is perfect if you want an immersion where time stops, where people are welcoming, where tradition and kindness go together.
The Riad is very big and cosy, the roughtop allows you to chill under the sun, and rest from the activity of the city.
The bathrooms are modern, the kitchen too.
I couldn't exepect better.
The pictures are very deceiving as the house looks very cosy but the furniture is old and the curtains are stained.. Claimed we will have Internet there was no internet also the cleaning charges are not clear and we were charged for no cleaning done also the house was freezing no heater provided for third room also the house is in a very isolated place where a car cannot go..very disappointed with this and would not recommend using this place as its dirty and cold and not easily accessible
In regard to all the positiv comments the Riad got just before Mohamad's stay, I think it was probably not the proper place for Mohammad and his group.
The cleaning fee is very clearly explicated and we could not change a word to improve it. Giving 10€ on top of the cleaning fee to Khadija and request her to come clean and cook for 3 days, it's modern slavery! Good she refuses!
Medina is a car free area, this is why we love it, we are really sorry you did not know this.
Regarding the wifi issue, some previous guest had changed the 3G chip of hour wifi router with one using a password! Nothing we could do from Paris. I gave you all explanations for resolving this issue in 2 minutes with the local shop you did not even try. The house is said to have no heaters, to improve your stay we put 3 electric eathers and heating bed covers sorry it was nbot enough.
Thank you again for the blackmail against "bad comment" at the end of the stay.
I never met Cyriac or Emma but was met by the house keeper who despite some language barriers between us was beyond lovely. The Riad was even more beautiful in the pictures and we had a wonderful stay! We had the housekeeper make us breakfast which i highly recommend. Loved it!

About the Host, Cyriac & Emma
