About This Listing
Fantastic apartment only a few meters from the city center, conveniently situated near the university and next to "Plaza Bologna" underground station (Line B). Available for short and long lets. Facilities include garden, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, washing machine, tv, dvd, internet and air conditioning (cold and hot).
Martina's place was very nice: very clean, cozy with everything what you need. Location is perfect for tourists: metro and bus stop close to apartment. Martina's family is very friendly and helpful. They provided us with drinking water, tea, coffee and etc. The neighborhood is safe and great with restaurants, cafe and shops. In the kitchen we found all the necessary kitchenware. We highly recommend Martina's studio to people visiting Rome.
What a perfect place to call home in Rome, this adorable little apartment. Just enough space for a couple, and it had everything we needed - a washer, coffee maker, wine glasses. When we first arrived, Martina's mother Laura gave us a tour and made us the best espresso we had in the city (really). I will say that knowing some Italian will help you here - Laura does not speak a word of English - but with my little bit of Spanish, which she knew a little, we were able to communicate well enough.
As far as getting places, the metro (subway) stop is less than half a block away - from here it is a five minute ride to the Colloseum. But at night, come back home to go to Da Enrico, an amazing, amazing restaurant just around the corner. If you're short on cash you could share a pizza and a half liter of wine here for €9 total. We never had better food than theirs in Rome, so we kept coming back.
We would definitely stay with Martina again on our next excursion to Rome!
We stayed for a week in the flat and met Martina’s parent who are both lovely and very helpful.
The flat is indeed located in the the courtyard of Martina’s parents place.
What we’ve liked :
-Perfect location : the metro station is litterally at the corner of the street, a bus stop is there as well, a supermarket is a street away and several restaurants/bars in the neighbourhood.
-The flat is cute and nicely decorated
-The bed was really comfortable
-Little things are there to make life easier : tea, coffee, oil and vinegar in the kitcken, bathrobes and shower gel in the bathroom are some examples.
-Good communication with Martina (she’s given us good indications to get there)
What we’ve liked a bit less :
-Due to humidity, the ceiling is crumbling in the kitchen,
-The walls are quite thin, so even with double-glazed windows, you can ear pretty well if people are talking next to the flat. But with earplug it’s fine.
-There’s no shutters on the windows, only plastic blinds – maybe it’s usual in italy. Combined to the thin walls, it didn’t convey a huge sense of privacy…
Unfortunately, we have been unlucky, as there was a construction site going on just above the flat and the workers started at 7.30 in the morning, so we couldn’t sleep for long. We would have preferred to be told about the construction site before.
So overall, a small place, that works for a couple. Thank you Martina, and viva Roma !
