A rustic, very clean, comfortable, cozy, pet friendly classic cabin/cottage with a large hot tub, an unique rustic-modern kitchen and main bathroom. Very close to Mt. Baker Ski Resort Area of Mt. Baker, Whatcom County, WA, United States and minutes from Glacier, WA. Convenient located in a gated community of Snowline. This unique Snowline cabin is a great home base for year-round activities in the Mount Baker area (aka Koma Kulshan) in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, North Cascades.

The space
This classic Mt. Baker Twin Tree House Cabin 1 is great for families, small group of friends and couples as the community amenities are just steps away. Flex space (kitchen, dining, living and 1 spacious full plus 1/2 bathrooms plus laundry on main) with four bedrooms on upper floor via a unique spiral wood block staircase (see photos – not ideal for bad knees or toddlers). The kitchen has been completely redesigned (rustic modern) with new quartz counter top and island, glass top range and quiet dishwasher along with laminate flooring throughout the main floor for easy cleaning. Of course, relax in the large private hot tub that is tested for water balance and thoroughly cleaned after every stay. Large front deck (with a large Douglas Fir tree growing through it) has a BBQ grill for gathering, cooking and relaxing. Total interior space is about 1,150 square feet split evenly between 2 floors with 575 sq. ft. per floor. While, the cabin can sleep 8 (one double/full size bed in each of the four bedrooms), it may feel crowded if you are used to larger space; therefore, maximum guest is set to 6. If you need to squeeze more in, you must make prior arrangements with the host because it may negatively impact the experience of your stay. Please keep this in mind if you have a group of more than four adults.

The 18,000 BTU high efficiency super quiet ductless mini-split air conditioner and heat pump keeps the main level comfortable year-round by automatically by heating and cooling. Yes, an air-conditioned cabin in the woods (main level only)!

Note that we try not to use harsh chemical to clean the cabin except for disinfection of high contact and hard surfaces. Natural products like vinegar and other biodegradable cleaners (Simple Green, ECOS detergent) are used whenever possible.

Our professional housekeeper follows Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:
- sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
- use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and housekeeper wears protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
- clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists
- provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
- comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines

Interesting note: The Mt. Tree House Cabin 1 cabin is featured in Shelter: Cabin Chronicles on Huckberry as The PNW TEAL CABIN (photo by @robstrok - must have caught his eyes!) that received thousands of comment on Huckberry's Face-Book page about the huge tree sticking out of the front porch and its bold teal color (Benjamin Moore Federal Blue actually). That is why it is called the Tree House 1. Tree House 2 has a tree sticking out of the back porch.

This a good old classic A-frame style cabin is constructed of almost entirely with Douglas Fir lumber and other wood wall panels. We have retained all the nostalgic features of yesteryear and combined them with modern amenities and comfort features like hot tub, internet, VOIP phone, Netflix, ductless AC heat pump and fully stocked kitchen and bathroom for a unique, safe and relaxing getaway.

Guest access
24/7 no contact self check-in:
Cabin front door access is via remotely managed secure PIN code (to be emailed). Community gate access is via key fob to be retrieved on your way to the cabin.

You have complete access to the cabin and all the amenities are within the gated community of Snowline Community Club. This includes seasonal an outdoor pool, a kid’s pool, two tennis court, a pickle ball court, a basket ball court, club house with game tables, play ground, large grass fields, picnic tables, a fishing pond and direct access to trails and the Nooksack River via two trail heads inside the community

Please note that the original wood block spiral staircase connecting the main floor (kitchen/dinning, living, bathrooms) and the top floor (4 bedrooms) has 10 inch rise steps that may not be suitable for toddlers, the elderly, those with weak knees, mobility challenges or if you had a few alcoholic beverages. For the rest of us, it is easy to use, great for exercise and offers our guests a unique cabin experience. Please see photos of the staircase.

Other things to note
Enhanced Cleaning Protocol and Message to our guests:
The Tree House Cabin 1 is thoroughly cleaned and high contact surfaces disinfected with a bleach solution. Our professional housekeeper wears a mask and gloves when working inside. All sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and towels are washed and dried in high temperature. While in the community and cabin, we ask that all guests observe and practice protocols suggested by the State of Washington’s health agencies/government that include frequent thorough hand washing with soap for at least 20 seconds, cough/sneeze into your sleeve or clothing, physical distance with those outside of your household etc. Note that the community swimming pool, the club house, and the playground will reopen only when allowed by health authority and is safe to do so. Effective June 26, face covering is required everywhere outside or inside common amenities whenever physical distancing with those outside of your own household is not possible.

As part of our check out procedure, we ask guests’ assistance by:
1) Sending us a message to confirm (YES or NO) if anyone experienced any flu like symptoms during their stay so we can advise our housekeeper accordingly for her protection and to perform additional cleaning on top of our already vigorous routines.
2) Leaving all windows open and turning on the bath fan and kitchen range hood fan to evacuate/exchange the air inside the cabin.

Pet: Your well-trained dog is welcome. A dog does create a bit more dust and related cleaning so there is a $25 per pet per stay charge to cover that. However, Airbnb has no option for pet fee but we can make it work using the money request feature. Only two simple pet rules 1) clean and pick up after everywhere and 2) do not leave alone for more than 2 hours - if must, crated and in the main bathroom only.

We include free unlimited phone calls to USA and Canada at no extra cost.

Our Mt. Baker Tree House 1 get booked up quickly, especially weekends, usually 2 to 3 months forward; however, if weekdays work with your schedule, nightly rate is also lower...something to consider. For 4 or more nights of Sunday to Thursday, please contact me for additional discount when doing last minute booking (e.g. less than a week from stay). The Mt. Baker Tree House is licensed and has WA tax ID number. State and County taxes are collected and remitted directly to WA DOR by Airbnb.
