The space
This classic Mt. Baker Twin Tree House Cabin 1 is great for families, small group of friends and couples as the community amenities are just steps away. Flex space (kitchen, dining, living and 1 spacious full plus 1/2 bathrooms plus laundry on main) with four bedrooms on upper floor via a unique spiral wood block staircase (see photos – not ideal for bad knees or toddlers). The kitchen has been completely redesigned (rustic modern) with new quartz counter top and island, glass top range and quiet dishwasher along with laminate flooring throughout the main floor for easy cleaning. Of course, relax in the large private hot tub (back of cabin) that is tested for water balance and thoroughly cleaned after every stay. Large front deck (with a large Douglas Fir tree growing through it that has been cut) has a BBQ grill for gathering, cooking and relaxing. Total interior space is about 1,150 square feet split evenly between 2 floors with 575 sq. ft. per floor. While, the cabin can sleep 8 (one double/full size bed in each of the four bedrooms), it may feel crowded if you are used to larger space; therefore, maximum guest is set to 6. If you need to squeeze more in, you must make prior arrangements with the host because it may negatively impact the experience of your stay. Please keep this in mind if you have a group of more than four adults.
Our Tree House 1 is one of 250 cabins in this beautiful and safe gate community. It is not a lone cabin in the wood and we do have neighbors.
The 18,000 BTU high efficiency super quiet ductless mini-split air conditioner and heat pump keeps the main level comfortable year-round by automatically by heating and cooling. Yes, an air-conditioned cabin in the woods (main level only)!
Note that we try not to use harsh chemical to clean the cabin except for disinfection of high contact and hard surfaces. Natural products like vinegar and other biodegradable cleaners (Simple Green, ECOS detergent) are used whenever possible.
Our professional housekeeper follows Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance.
Interesting note: The Mt. Tree House Cabin 1 cabin is featured in Shelter: Cabin Chronicles on Huckberry as The PNW TEAL CABIN (photo by @robstrok - must have caught his eyes!) that received thousands of comment on Huckberry's Face-Book page about the huge tree sticking out of the front porch and its bold teal color (Benjamin Moore Federal Blue actually). That is why it is called the Tree House 1. Tree House 2 has a tree sticking out of the back porch.
This a good old classic A-frame style cabin is constructed of almost entirely with Douglas Fir lumber and other wood wall panels (e.g. not as good in sound insulation like drywall). We have retained all the nostalgic features of yesteryear and combined them with modern amenities and comfort features like hot tub, internet, VOIP phone, Netflix, ductless AC heat pump and fully stocked kitchen and bathroom for a unique, safe and relaxing getaway.

You have complete access to the cabin and the grounds within the gated community of Snowline Community Club. Direct access to trails and the Nooksack River via two trail heads inside the community - closes one is at the end of Rainier Way.
Please note that the original wood block spiral staircase connecting the main floor (kitchen/dinning, living, bathrooms) and the top floor (4 bedrooms) has 10 inch rise steps that may not be suitable for toddlers, the elderly, those with weak knees, mobility challenges or if you had a few alcoholic beverages. Large luggage would be difficult to carry up or down (not recommended). Older dogs or those with shorter legs may not be able to climb the stairs. For the rest of us, it is easy to use, great for exercise and offers our guests a unique cabin experience. Please see photos of the staircase.
Other things to note
Enhanced Cleaning Protocol and Message to our guests:
The Tree House Cabin 1 is thoroughly cleaned. All sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and towels are washed and dried in high temperature.
The speed limit is 15 miles per hour. One one vehicle may enter the gate each time it opens. Violators are subject to hefty fines plus damages.

Only three simple rules that you must agreed 1) clean and pick up after everywhere and report any pee accident immediately, 2) not allowed on the bed and 3) do not leave alone for more than 2 hours - if must, dog must be crated and in the main bathroom only without exception.
