We offer you this great traditional Riad. Located inside the Medina, it can easily accommodate up to ten people with its five bedrooms - each possessing its private bathroom.
On the 150 m2 terrace, you'll enjoy thye best way you can imagine on the world's biggest Medina : it's one of the few you can find find with a 360° view. Inside the house, you'll be able to admire traditional wooden panels and woodwork (see pictures) as well as precious Iraki stainglasses.
Rachid and Oulyia will welcomme tou and offer you a breakfast (included in the price that should keep you going all day long. If you're still hungry, though, the house has an equipped kitchen and Oulyia can cook the evening meal for you (not included in the price).
Conveniently located in the Medina, the Riad is also very close to one of the main entrance points to the city (Bab El Guissa) where Rachid will be waiting for you on your day of arrival and guide you in the labyrinth of the Medina to find the Riad.

It was an amazing experience and the Medina was incredible. The Riad was exactly as it was portrayed in the pictures and was just as beautiful in real life. Rachid and Olaya were fantastic hosts and helped us to organise our trip around Morocco with a wonderful driver Adil!! Olaya prepares some of the best meals we have ever had and would highly recommend that you dine in the Riad. We cannot recommend this place enough and had a fantastic traditional Moroccan experience.
Six of us have just spent four great days in Fez, in this beautiful old medina house. Fez is a city which seems to have barely changed in a thousand years....life still revolves around the mosques, the family, the souks, the hammams and the myriad artisan workshops...and staying in Edgar's house is an opportunity to immerse yourself in it all. Listening to the hundreds of muezzins calling the faithful to prayer across the city at sunset from the roof of the house, has to be one of the most memorable experiences...of my life! The medina is a maze of ill lit, confusing alleyways, but wonderful Ouliya, who looks after the house and guests, can arrange a guide ....this is highly advisable! She is also an amazing cook....and for about 100dhrms each per meal, will produce a fantastic evening feast for you. This is not only a great way to try delicious, authentic, Moroccan food....it also means you dont have to leave the house and try to navigate the alleyways in the dark! (Not for the faint hearted!). We ended up eating in every night....and it was a high spot of our trip. Oulyia also gave two of us a short course in cooking Moroccan food....highly recommended for foodies!
NB Although the days in January can be quite warm....it can be very cold at night. There are some heaters and plenty of blankets...but these old houses are built primarily to cope with summer heat, not cold, damp winters. Take plenty of warm clothes....and slippers for the stone floors. The plumbing is a bit haphazard, too....but it basically works.....and you could always use the hammam, like the locals!
We had a fabulous stay....its a beautiful old house, in a wonderfully vibrant and exotic setting....
Thank you, Edgar, Ouliya and Rachid.
Super expérience. Rachid et Oulya sont très accueillant et les talents de cuisinière cette dernière seront la cerise sur le gâteau de votre séjour. Maison d'hôte authentique, décoration typique. Je recommande sans réserves!
Great value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the riad, which was beautifully decorated and roomy. Lots of different places to hang out, including breakfast up on the terrace! Edgar's advice was good to bring warm layers during the winter in the riad as although there are space heaters, there are lovely high ceilings and no central heating.
Rachid and Ouliya were terrific!! We had a meal in one night and the food was delicious and plenty of it. As were the breakfasts and she accommodated our special requests. Rachid was very helpful, meeting us at the gate at Bab Guissa and walking us to the riad when we arrived. He also booked taxis to/from the airport for us and a guide (we requested to see the sights and NO shopping, which the guide did) which we really appreciated. We had a fantastic visit to Fez and living right in the medina in a traditional riad was a big part of it. Before our arrival Edgar hadn't replied quickly to my email, but when I texted him he replied right away. I would definitely recommend staying at this lovely riad!!
We the most amazing experience in Fes. Rachid and Ouliya were exceptional hosts, and made us feel so welcome. Rachid very kindly collected us to and from and train station and was available the whole time if we needed help with anything. The Riad itself is spectacular. A 400 year old building with traditional accents and quirks. The view from the rooftop terrace overlooking the medina is amazing. Ouliya went out of her way to provide for us, and we ate her delicious cooking every night for dinner! It's definitely worth doing, best food we had in Morocco. Breakfast was also looked forward to eagerly. They also organised a guide to show us around the medina, and we had a driver take us around the outskirts and to look outs. Ouliya also very kindly gave us some fruit from the markets for our long journey on the train. I can't fault our experience at all, we will never forget it!
Hello! I can only add to the positive comments already made and agree with the previous guests reviews. This was a lovely stay in a lovingly restored Riad in the Medina! So cool. Edgar owns the place but has a married couple, Ouliya and Rachid who keep things running smoothly with a warm and loving touch. I would suggest to bring slippers as the floor is cold. Also... Take a cooking class with Oulyia! My son who is a picky eater claimed her dinners were the best in all of Fez. We also glad we stayed here! Thank you Ouliya and Rachid :)
