  • We loved our stay at Lydie's place - it was very clean, well organised with everything we needed and such a private retreat after being out and about sightseeing etc. Great to come back to the pool area and relax and lots of space in the house as well. Lydie's Mum was very warm and welcoming and we had fun trying to communicate without English! We enjoyed exploring the historic aspects of Barbentane, being close to Avignon and the surrounding area, and the locals were friendly. Highly recommended!

  • We had a fantastic family reunion in this fabulous house in the end of May. The wonderful pictures on the AirBnB website are very accurate. Our experience in the Provence wouldn't have been the same without Lydie's house waiting for us after wonderful day trips in the area. The house is perfect for big groups - we were 6 people, but there is enough place for 8 people in four bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped and we dined every night in the house at the spacious dining room table. There is a wonderful pool with lots of seating around which was perfect after a long day of activities. Check in and check out was with Lydie's adorable mom (she speaks French and Italian) and the communication with Lydie prior to our stay was super easy and prompt. All important numbers and important things for the house were written down in English which was helpful.
The Barbentane village center is a 10 minute walk from the house. You can buy groceries, fresh bread, there's even a pizzeria, a bank, and a post office. Lydie's house is perfectly located and makes it very easy to explore this breathtaking region of France. We never drove more than 1 hour and were delighted by the beauty of Provence.
The place is so wonderful that we definitely want to come back- we hope very soon.

  • We were two families from Goa , India , in all seven of us travelling with children. Right from the time of booking Lydie was very prompt with her mails and also proficient with her advice.
We were received by her mother Giaclina , a very gracious host. Although she didn't speak English and our French speaking skills were limited we managed fine thanks to the written instructions.
The house is beautiful and very well equipped . We loved the tranquility here. Barbentane is 20 minutes away from Avignon and perfectly located for day trips around Provence. We took in the Sunday market at L'isle sur la Sorgue, Gordes(lovely vistas) , Avignon, Chateauneux du pape, Orange, Nimes, St Remy de Provence and Pont du Gard.
We used to love coming back to the warm house after the day trip .
We would love to come back here some time in the future.

  • After a week in the busy & crowded streets of Paris, spending the next few days in Lydie's house was truly a vacation! So peaceful and restful, it was exactly what our family needed. Our only regret is not staying longer -- five days is not enough to experience the beauty of Provence! The villa is situated in a perfect location in Barbentane, conveniently close to the TGV station, and central to all the must-see historic sites.

The house was perfect for our extended family of 8, which included 2 children and their 2 grandparents -- it was very spacious, with a large dining room that seats 10 people. The kitchen was so complete and so well-equipped with everything we could possibly need, that we decided to cook all our meals there, instead of dining out. Lydie provided us with a handy list of nearby places we could drive to for supplies, and her mum was very helpful in pointing us to the wifi-equipped spots in the village.

So much care was put into the details by Lydie and her mum into making sure that the guests were comfortable, such as providing new fluffy color-coded towels; new clean sheets and extra comforters; complete bathroom amenities (with wonderfully scented handsoap); more than enough plates & utensils for several meals so we didn't have to run the dishwasher so often; tables & shelves in the bedrooms for our personal belongings; a bread basket and bread-cutting board; and plastic containers (and even wax paper) to store extra food. We felt truly at home.

We definitely will be coming back for another, but this time, longer stay at Lydie's house. :)

  • We really enjoyed staying at Lydie's house in Barbentane. The house is well equipped with lots of cutlery, pots and dishes so there are plenty of cups and glasses, ect. I also appriciate that three cubes of washing powder were there to operate the washing machine and some soap in the bathroom.
However, we did not cook so often but prefered to go out for dinner. Especially the small restaurant "The Romarin" in Barbentane offers an excellent menue starting from 13 €, but other French restaurants do that as well. Lydie's mother was very friendly. We do not speak French (only very, very little) but she was patient and explained everything with the help of the documentation you have to sign at arrival and departure. The place is a very good starting point for day-tours (Pond du Gard was amazing, but also Gordes, Roussilon, the Carmargue region etc.). We actually used the pool once but the water was still too cold (what do you expect in April), however, the pool area and the pool house are lovely and we would like to come back another time.
Another thing to point out is the good communication. Lydie answered our mails quickly and gave us some great tip to attend the Sunday Market in L'Isle de la Sourge.
We absolutley recomend this place and when we came back to Germany we told our friends and family about this great place.

  • Our stay in Provence was a dream, and Lydie's house was an important part of it. We were two couples and four young children. The house was perfect for us. The weather was good, the children enjoyed the garden a lot, we had lunch outside, and our dinners were very agreeable, in the dining room that overlooks the garden.

This a very well equipped house, and the kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare meals with the wonderful ingredients you can only find in France (the only things missing: a cutting board, knives and some recipients for leftovers). Giaclina, Lydie's mother, was very welcoming and even left some crayons, pencils and a coloring book for the children and a bottle of wine for us. She was also very patient with us during check-out (thank you, thank you!). Oh, and before our arrival she did some grocery shopping for us, since we'd be arriving at night from a 24h trip with the kids. What could be better than that?

We loved the location, close to many attractions and about 10 minutes away from Avignon. You have to have a car, though.

Lydie answers the emails really quickly, our communication was excellent.

If you, like us, are a family with kids, bear in mind that one of the bedrooms is downstairs, in the basement, so it will not do for small kids because of the stairs. Also, you pay for electricity in the end of your stay, which in our case turned out to be EUR 13 per day.

I hope to go back to Provence really soon, and Lydie's house is definitely where we will stay.

About
Let me give you a little bit of History about me, my family and the House and how it comes it is listed here today. My father was raised in an old house in the center of Barbentane village. In 1969 he decided to buy a land outside the village. This land was then known by locals as “Les petits Pins” (“The small pine trees”). Working in the construction industry my father wanted to build himself his own house. After two years, working on vacations, evenings, weekends and receiving some advices and help from some colleagues, the House was built. Early 2000, while I am working for an IT consulting company in south of France, I decide to launch a personal project: make this Family Country House a Vacation Home for myself and my Guests all year long. After 5 years, working on vacations, some weekends and receiving some advices and help from my father and my mother, the Vacation Home was completed! The Villa and the Garden went through renovations and upgrades meeting main requirements: keep true to the natural setting of La Montagnette and Provence, be comfortable, easy living, spacious and secure. Welcome and Enjoy your stay in your Vacation Home in Provence.
