Marissa and Sigi are warm and welcoming hosts, respectful of our privacy while being responsive and present when needed. They quickly addressed our need for a separate mailbox for our long-term stay, and offered to pick up items at the store if we needed supplies.
The neighborhood is transitioning, and has a number of great restaurants and bars. It is a walk to the closest Metro station (about 20 minutes to Union Station), but the streetcar on H St is coming - someday.
Marissa and Sigis are great hosts! We were really happy to be in their apartment. We came from NYC by bus (Eastern) and Marissa was so kind to pick us up from the bus stop at our arrival and to also bring us there on the way back. They even bought some new electric adapters for European plugs that we could use in the house!!
The apartment is really cool and there is everything you need including wifi, cooking stuffs, laundry/dryer, heating as described.
We visited DC after NYE so it's cold and difficult to walk around (even if we did it as well). There is a bus (X2) passing close to the apartment that brings you to the center (Union Station metro, Garden Place metro, La Fayette square - White House) and we found it really helpful. It's 1.75$ with the SmartTrip card that we made even for 4 days of visit.
Even if there are small grocery stores near the apartment we found easier for use to go to a bigger one (Giant is the closest we found, between H street and 3rd street NE).
This apartment is amazing, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the living room, which gave us plenty of space to have breakfast, entertain and use the convertible sofa.
It is located in a really nice neighborhood, close to H street (bars, restaurants). You have to walk around 30min to see the main attractions but you can catch the X2 bus nearby to go downtown.
Marissa has been great during all our stay and allowed us to check out later at the last minute, we really appreciated it.
Marissa & Sigis communicated well and were very helpful upon our arrival to the apartment. The space is tastefully decorated and includes everything as listed. Its in a good location, near bars and restaurants, easily within walking distance to bike and bus stations.
We had a lovely time in this apartment in D.C. It was easy to find in a lovely quiet location, although a bit further out from the sights than we expected. This didn't make a difference though as we were able to use the city bikes and bus system to get around.
We were in DC for a five week research trip, and this place was ideal. A 25 minute walk to the Library of Congress, Eastern Market, and the restaurants at Barracks Row, 15 minutes to Union Station and 15 minutes to the well-sized grocery store on thrid street. Lots of buses, too. The apartment is on a quiet street with H Street restaurants and bars half a block away. Marissa and Siggi were very reliable and friendly hosts and always promptly reacted to any questions we had. We loved having a dishwasher; great w/d, too. We would come back anytime.
We liked a lot Marissa’s apartment. Clean and comfortable, very peaceful area, but still close to restaurants and market places. Walking distance to train station, buss/taxi distance to the center of the city. We had a nice stay, thank you.
