The spare bedroom in my home is for rent. It's furnished with a full size bed, new mattress, chest of drawers, and desk. Comfortable accommodates 2 guests.
My home is charming and colorful. I'm renting my second bedroom to weekend travelers or others who want to visit Austin and are looking for a place to stay. My home is approximately 2 miles from the center of downtown Austin, it's on the Capital Metro bus route, or it's easy to catch a cab downtown. The second bedroom has a full size bed, dressers, and small space to hang your clothing. It opens up to an enclosed patio/porch overlooking my backyard where you can have a campfire or BBQ. I have a large flat-screen TV (no cable service, but I do have Netflix or Amazon Prime), internet connection, computer, washer/dryer, home alarm system, full kitchen and full bathroom.
If you will be in town with bicycles, I have a shed in the backyard where you can store them while not in use. I also have a cat, Dragon, who is very nice and loves attention.
My home was built in 1948 and is a very eclectic, unique discovery. I have collected treasures to hang on my walls, painted murals and repainted murals, I have a chalk board wall and a swing hanging from the living room ceiling. Its an extremely inviting and relaxing atmosphere.
If you are interested in renting my entire home, please let me know and we can talk price.
Guests will have access to the internet and various TV rental sites (Netflix, Amazon Prime) but must pay for anything purchased through Netflix or Amazon.
Interaction with Guests
I enjoy joining guests on their Austin adventures. I understand that guests may have their own agenda, and I have my own schedule that I must work around, but I do enjoy making new friends out of these stays.
MetroRail to downtown is 1 mile away, bus pick up is 2 blocks away, Car2Go services available in my area, and cabs are always an option.
Please just treat my home with respect as if it was your own.
Jenny was a great host, super friendly and - since she is starting her own bakery business - generous enough to leave me a cookie! The house is nice and cute, and really well located. I was able to get in and out of the centre of town for SXSW without having to worry about cabs using either buses or the tram.
Jenny was a fantastic host and made sure to have all areas covered. From when I arrived she had welcomed me with all of the information I needed and went the extra distance to have food / snacks in the house available to me. The house was super clean and comfortable and in a great location. I had gotten in a jam at the last minute with airport transportation so I was unable to return my bike or get a ride to the airport. Jenny had returned my bike for me and her friend had given me a ride to the airport. It is experiences and hosts like this that really make the Airbnb community shine. Thanks again Jenny!
Great place to stay in Austin! The home is really, really cozy and Jenny is about as solid of a host as you could ask for. She even bought some groceries for me before I arrived and asked what I'd like to eat! Very friendly and helpful, and even gave me a lift downtown when I couldn't get a taxi.
Good place, solid host. Oh, and her cat's name is Dragon. How could this NOT be an awesome place to stay?
The house is pretty,Jenny is very kind host and the guest room is clean and (website hidden) also easy to get in downtown by bus.
Everyone can enjoy his own Austin experience staying in Jenny's house.
I'm a young Austinite who's interested in doing new things and meeting new people. I love living close to the city center and exploring what Austin has to offer. I can entertain guests or I can leave you do your own exploring, but I welcome you into my home for your stay in Austin!
Hope to see you soon,
