The Space

Large English Basement Studio Apartment in Historic Row House - 2 Blocks from Dupont Circle
Super Safe Neighborhood in the Heart of the City
Steps Away from Food, Shops, Metro (Red Line), Buses, Theaters, Music Venues, etc.

Beautiful 150-year-old historic iron bed with super comfy double mattress. Sheets, pillows, comforter, etc. provided. Sleeps 2.

Futon couch - sheets, pillows, comforter, extra blankets, etc. provided - Sleeps 2 (if the two people are comfortable being close to each other. It's slightly smaller than a double, but bigger than a twin)

Two-Inch Thick Twin Sized Foam Pad for Sleeping on the Floor - Sheets and Sleeping Bag Available (I've used this many times and I've slept surprising well each time.)

Street Parking available, just let me know in advance and I can go pick up a street parking pass so that you can leave your car on the street in District/Ward 2 (Dupont Area). NOTE: You will need to provide me with 1) your permanent address, 2) your vehicle's license plate number & issuing state, 3) a copy of your vehicle registration.

NOTE: A long-haired cat lives with me when I'm there, so there will be some cat hair around. If you are highly allergic, I would not suggest staying here. And chances are, he will be staying there while you're there, but I can usually find him a place to stay if you'd really really prefer him not to be there. (But preference will be given to those who are ok with him being there.) He's a very nice (albeit shy), chill cat who will be your best friend after a few hours. His name is Rupert.

The Neighborhood

Dupont is a fantastic neighborhood! My place is 2 blocks from Dupont Circle and 3 blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro (Red Line.) There are so many wonderful restaurants and bars one block from my apartment. There is also a fantastic little theater right behind my apartment (Keegan Theater) that does fantastic shows!

Getting around

Dupont Circle Metro stop (red line) is three blocks from my apartment and there are lots of buses. It's also super easy to catch a cab ride outside the front door.

  • Leigh's place was great and centrally located in Dupont Circle. A few blocks from Shake Shack, CVS, Little Serow (great Thai restaurant), Komi (one of the best Italian places in D.C.), the metro, and the popular U Street. Wi-fi was excellent and fast and the parking was a major plus. Leigh provided clear directions to her place, a map of the area, suggestions and was a very responsive and detailed host. The cat was cool too.

  • Leigh's apartment is centrally located…1.5 blocks from Dupont Circle and in a really cool building. It had all the amenities and Leigh was very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend her place. Her cat was shy but very cute.

  • Loved it! Great place in a great location.

  • this is a great location in dupont circle. My only real criticism is the cat as it wasn't too nice having a little cat litter on the bathroom floor and the odour was sometimes strong, as it is a basement flat without the best ventilation.

if you are a cat lover you will like it as the cat is very cute.

Leigh was really sweet about waiting for us to check in when our flight was delayed

  • Leigh was absolutely fantastic! I was unexpectedly in town for a night and she was able to accommodate with about 2 hours notice. Quick responses, great location, and reasonably priced. Her cat is AMAZING! Overall, it couldn't have worked out better. Probably my best AirBNB experience yet. I highly recommend her.

  • Leigh's place was a charming garden apartment a short walk away from Dupont Circle. There's a dedicated parking space, and she also worked with us to get a parking pass in advance of our visit so we could park in the neighborhood, which was very accommodating of her. We offered to keep an eye on her sweet cat Rupert, who was a welcome addition to our stay there, and the kitchen (with a full-sized fridge) had everything we could have needed.

The place is cozy and clean, and the three of us were quite comfortable. It was nice to have lots of fresh towels too. The AC unit kept the place cool and retrieving the keys to the place was safe and hassle-free, always a plus. I didn't get to meet Leigh but she was very helpful and responded immediately when I had a question about parking. The neighborhood is pretty walkable. Thanks Leigh for hosting us in your great city!

  • Just perfect! We (email hidden) to stay for a few nights in DC and this was exactly what we were looking for. You can't find a better spot in DC - just a minute from Dupont Circle. Leigh left great instructions and we had everything we needed. Having a washer/dryer right outside the door was an added plus. We would definitely stay again here.

  • Leigh's place is located in a vibrant neighborhood, close to everything. It's full of personality and very cozy. For the cost, I think it's one of the best alternatives there is in DC. If I returned to DC, would definitely stay at Leigh's again.

  • I stayed in Leigh's apartment when I went to DC to visit my daughter who is a student at Georgetown.
It was perfect. I arrived at 11:30 at night and felt perfectly safe walking from the subway to her apartment.
Leigh's apartment is in great location. Five minute walk to the subway, grocery stores, restaurants. Walking distance of the white house, Georgetown, Rock Creek Park etc.
The apartment is not upscale but it was immaculately clean with a very comfortable bed, it was quiet and cool (90 degree days) and had everything that I needed.
Leigh was available for questions and left me with sight seeing and transportation resources. Thanks Leigh!

About
Hi, I'm Leigh and I recently moved to DC back in March of 2012. I absolutely love DC and everything it has to offer. There is always something fun going on here and you don't have to look very hard to find it. A little about myself: I love to read (my apartment is full of books) and be outdoors. I also enjoy making films and graphic designing. I really like my job and absolutely love my friends... and life in general. Oh, and I really enjoy meeting new people and traveling around the world. I'm super chill and will be happy doing most anything. I'm a big fan of pets and animals in general as well. That's all I can think of at the moment, but if you want to know something more, please don't hesitate to ask.
