Stay in the very heart of Nørrebro, only few minutes walk to the central lakes and 10 min. from the centre, in the most “Berlinish” street of Copenhagen. A pedestrian, multicultural street with lots of cafés and alternative type of restaurants and shops, near public transportation. The perfect place to be to explore the wonders of this city.
THE APARTMENT (4th floor)
Has 4 rooms, a big kitchen, bathroom (small but functional) and a huge balcony.
2 rooms facing the street (my living room and bedroom/study).
2 rooms (email hidden) yard overviewing the roofs of Copenhagen, both for rent.
Once I rented out the whole apartment during a agency, they described it as "Bohemian". If they by that meant, colorful and artistic with sense of creating beauty for little money, they where right.
This is the add for the smallest. (If you are looking for a place for more people you can book both. Just look for G1 Blågårdsgade Balcony at the right side of this page).
The room is aproxx. 10 sqm. It contains a bed that can convert to a double - or two singles (see the fotos). There are a little table, chairs and a build-in closet with space for your things.
Wi-fi, bed linen, towels. I don´t serve breakfast, but you can buy things to eat here or go to one of the numerous cafés in the street.
You can also use the kitchen, and If I am home and we feel like it, we might cook something together and divide the expenses (I´m known to be a pretty skilled chéf) - but no promises - and no obligation :)
You can borrow iron & board, hair dryer and umbrellas for a rainy day. Use my shower gel, shampoo and conditioner if you want to travel light.
If you arrive at the airport, take the metro to Forum (15 min). From there it´s a quick 7-10 min walk away.
If you arrive at the Main Station, you take 5A towards Husum Torv.
(Closer details are provided upon booking, in the confirmation email.)
If you come by car it can be difficult to find a vacant parking space in the streets, but there is a 24h parking house in absolute proximity.
If I´m not at home when you arrive, I will find a solution so you can get settled safely.
First of all I´(email hidden) - an addict to my senses - and at the same time with a pretty good logical mind. I love music, theatre- to sing and dance....to cook, eat and drink wine in the company of good people.
I also like to travel and meet new people.
If you stay in my house - I expect us to be sensible to the fact, that we are sharing a moment in life with a person, that could be someone we would like to share a lot with - or maybe a little. Both is all right!
I will do my best to make your stay a good experience - and I hope you will be nice to my home.

My short trip to Copenhagen was totally enhanced by staying in the hip foodie neighborhood of Norrebro. Gitte was not in town when I was there, but she made picking up the key etc easy, and the single room was suitible as a place to rest & get internet. Tons of cafes on the street, walking distance from Assistens Cemetery, easy metro commute to and from the airport. Can be a bit noisey, but I would reccomend it for visitors who like wandering around to cafes, bars, and restuarants.
- Good location near center of the city and many cafes and restaurants nearby
- The photos and descriptions in the website are not quite compatible.
- At least some sort of duvet or blanket must be supplied instead of old tapestry-look-like piece with covers.
- The single mattress beside a bed foundation on floor is not beds for 2 persons.
- Must specify the room is in the apartment on 4th floor (5th above ground in Europe) without elevator in a lengthy house manual and rules. Some people may not be able to bring up their luggage at all.
- The price of room in very old building with cleaning and service fees is not better than hostel and B & B.
- Not recommend for 2 persons and one with heavy luggage.
I´m sorry you didn´t understand where the duvets and pillows were. I explained it to you (inside the big pillows on the bed) - I even opened one of the zippers to show you, and you nodded your head, when I asked you if you understood.
The bed is bought as a double bed - but its on the floor - that right - as you can see it on the photos.
It says on my listing, that its a fourth floor with no elevator, so it can't be any secret to you.
Gitte is a responsible, lively and very warm host. She steered my of my wife's arrival from Aarhus in the midst of a marathon running event when roads in the inner city got blocked and ended up extending our stay by making her own room available her own room when I discovered I'd goofed up on my date for my flight out of Copenhagen ! She epitomises the idea of 'hygge' which is so special about the Danes. Cant thank her enough for the wine and wonderful conversations sitting out on her balcony overlooking the large green patch of a children's play school and small gardens. And for her most appropriate suggestions as to the places we should visit, given our interests which she gauged so intelligently. Carla turned 18 while we were there and Gitte's excitement and hard work to prepare for the special celebrations afforded an insight for us into how strong the family bonds in Copenhagen are ! Look forward to Carla and Gitte visiting us in New Delhi to reciprocate their kindnesses.
A very beautiful, clean, charming and quiet lodging in a very nice environment; everything was so well thought and comfortable. Thank you so much, Gitte - also for your kindness and helpful informations - Nadja and I had a wonderful stay!
We really enjoyed Gitte's home in Norrebro! She was an excellent host and had lots of great recommendations for enjoying the city. The room and her place were very clean and we felt comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying with her.
Gitte's place was very warm and welcoming, very well-organised, and spotless, not to mention artfully decorated. The neighbourhood was great, with plenty of places to eat nearby. I would definitely recommend it.
We had the best time staying at Gitte's apartment and I would have no hesitation in recommending it (email hidden) to stay in Copenhagen. It's a beautiful, lovingly furnished place and obviously a real home. Its centrally located (and personally, I liked the district of Nørrebro the best) with heaps to do around it and within a 10 min cycle ride. The room was warm, comfortable, homely and quiet. Gitte's is both lovely and helpful and it was a pleasure to meet her! We are already planning our next trip to Copenhagen :)
My sister and I stayed three days at Gitte's apartment in April 2014. We loved the place! Gitte is a very nice, friendly, and helpful host. Although we arrived very late in the evening, we got a warm welcome and felt home immediately. The place looked exactly as shown on the pictures. It was very clean. The bathroom was small but had everything you need. The location of the apartment is absolutely great! Norrebro is a very vibrant and multicultural neighbourhood with many good restaurants (great food and very good price!), bars, bakeries… You don't need to go more than 200m away from Gitte's apartment to find a place where you can have excellent breakfast or dinner or where you can go out in the night. Close to the apartment, there (email hidden) where there (email hidden) jazz concert that we have really enjoyed. Although the neighbourhood is very lively during day and night, you can sleep very well, because the apartment is located at the 4th floor and at the backside of building.
We had a wonderful weekend in Copenhagen and I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to visit this great and cosy city!!
It was really nice experience to stay in Gitte's lovely apartment, full of nice art works and nice decor! She also gave us some recommendation for vintage shops and restaurant which very useful. But it was a short trip only for two nights stay. I will definitely go back to Copenhagen again!
Gitte and her daughter are both lovely people and made us feel very welcome during our 2 day stay at their beautiful home. I contacted Gitte very last minute for the reservation and she was most helpful from our first contact in accommodating us. The neighbourhood is great and Gitte helped us getting started on our exploration of it with excellent tips.
