I live in a mobile home facing a park where below is a creek. Theres a feeling of being in a village with 10mph cars, dogs on leashes, cats roam a bit and a wonderful clubhouse with various activities, pool and a jacuzzi and quite quiet...
I own a mobile home in the best mobile home community in the county, called CREEKSIDE. I live right in front of the Park where the creek runs. No homes across the street, just the Park where you can hear owls at night and frogs during the day and evening. The park has an outdoor swimming pool and indoor jacuzzi. Trader Joes is across the street, so is Starbucks. A local cafe is down the street about a half mile... I have 2 kitties (as of April '14, they are 10 months old).
Bike Friendly city. Weather is super/paradise (cool in the evenings), 15min from the ocean at Avila or 20min to Shell Beach/Pismo.
Downtown with shops and cool cafes, music clubs, theatre and restaraunts is about 2 miles away. I recommend the local food Big Sky restaurant, the Palm theatre, Kreuzeberg or Linnaeas Cafe, Bliss Cafe with their beautiful outdoor patio facing the creek. Another fine cafe in the funky cool area near the Amtrak station is Sally Loo's: (website hidden)
Avila Hotsprings is 10 minutes away where they have a large pool, hot sulfur baths, and a restaurant: (website hidden)
Sycamore Resort is more pricey yet more elegant with private hot tubs and add about another 7 minutes away: (website hidden)
their private room and private bathroom and access to the kitchen.. and access to the jacuzzi and pool and clubhouse that also has a kitchen and library.
Interaction with Guests
some, depending on their schedule. I have had longs talks with people as well as very short ones. It all depends on the circumstances and how busy they are or I am on that particular day or days.
Its like a village with a park, clubhouse with pool and jacuzzi, a library, a park and the creek that is accessible. also a bike trail that takes about 20-25 minutes that has a beginning and an end back to the Village, I like to call it a village since traffic is 10 mph, dogs (on leashes) and cats roam the friendly streets.
yes, about a block away there is public transit, in front of the Trader Joes/Food4Less complex.
Other Things to Note
I have 2 kitties (as of April '14, they are 10 months old).
no smoking, no large pets, no hard liquor, no loud music, no cooking of meat. [I have 2 kitties, brother and sister... (as of April '14, they are 10 months old).]
Unfortunately I couldn’t meet Bob while staying there,Because he was going out. But,he was very helpful in the chat so I could check in easily. The location was great for going to cafe, restaurants, groceries and any other things. He left some food like bagles and wine for us and all of them were great. The space was very comfortable and the cats in the house were very cute.I wish I could meet Bob and if I could have opportunity to stay bob’s space again,I would like to stay there for a longer time.
My experience staying overnight with Bob was good. My girlfriend and I spent one night in his home. His room for us was comfortable, and he left us some bagels, fruit and wine in the afternoon. Bob let us use his parking spot next to his home. His area is quiet, so I had no problems, being a light sleeper.
Bob does have 2 cats, in case that's an issue for anyone with allergies. My girlfriend and I quite like cats, so it was fine with us.
Location-wise, it's very near the 101 highway and very close to downtown San Luis Obispo.
Overall a good experience, and we appreciated Bob's hospitality.
Bob is a cool guy and had good conversation upon our arrival. He also had some snacks on the table for us and also made us soup which was a nice gesture.
Bob made feel extremely welcome on every level--within his home, within his immediate neighborhood, and within his community.
I had a car, which helped make my trip more convenient, but I liked that his immediate neighborhood was slow paced and walkable.
Bob was a friendly, accommodating, and generous host!
The room was just as described in the listing. He provided us with fresh fruit, bagels, and wine as promised. We also had access to the community pool and jacuzzi, which we used and found it clean and refreshing! We would go back and stay at Bob's again.
Bob was very flexible and accommodating. He already had plans for his space when I asked about staying there but he amazingly made it work. He was quick to reply to messages and very friendly the whole time. The mobile home park was clean and quiet. I enjoyed hearing the birds chirping in the morning when we walked across the street to Starbucks for breakfast. Thank you, Bob, the rental that was exactly what we needed!
My Air bnb experience was a little different this time as I was needing a place to stay while waiting for my apartment to be ready. I stayed at Bob's house for three weeks-he was a fantastic host, made me breakfast on the weekends and brought my wine. His house is about 2 1/2 miles from downtown SLO and a very easy bike ride/car trip. Bob was very helpful and kind throughout my stay.
