Harrison retreat is the perfect romantic getaway and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage style apt was very clean, quaint and just enough off the highway to give it a private and relaxing aura. Our host Dehlia was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and informative - pointing out many of the must see sights in the area. We will definitely be looking to book with her again in the future and highly recommend Harrison retreat to others looking to shed the city and enjoy the beauty of Harrison/Agassiz :)
It was lovely to meet Dehlia. She gave us helpful tips and suggestions for our stay in Agassiz which we really appreciated. It was a surprise to find out the place is actually a motel as this was not posted in the description. There are 4 units side-by-side which takes away from the 'entire home/apt' idea (could hear your neighbhours). The interior can use upgrades in regards to the furniture (the bed wasn't the most comfortable!). Other than this, it's a great location and friendly host.
I believe I did explain to Laurie that I was in transition and was completing my new signage. Although the building was originally an older character motel I completely renovated it in a style that is far removed from typical motels like super 8 etc. I have tried to make it more appealing and comfortable with unique furnishings that are sometimes vintage and in keeping with the 1957 character. All the private suites are like 1 bedroom apartments which like even in a small apartment complex would be close by to your neighbour but here there is only 4 total. The listing is posted as a suite and not a house by itself and yes expect a little character because that is part of the charm. Since Laurie's stay I have removed the motel signs and put up my Inn signs as it is more appropriate for what you would expect.
Dehlia was very friendly and accommodating. The Place was really clean when we arrived. Description of place & pictures are accurate. We stayed with our 2 small kids and found the kitchen space to be a bit limiting for cooking and the kitchen table small but the place is really only meant for 2 or less people but doable with small family on a budget! All in all I think the retreat is priced fairly.
Dehlia was a great host. She was flexible to meet us when we had to arrive late, and she told us about all the interesting places to see in the surrounding area! Our little room was very cute and cozy, and the bedroom had a view of the garden which I bet is beautiful in the summer! It's just off the highway and around a 15 minute drive from Harrison Hot Springs, but we loved the drive between the two!
Harrison retreat is a quiet and cosy little B&B only 10 minutes away from Harrison. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived. It is perfect for a romantic and relaxing getaway far from the city. Dehlia was very friendly and helpful; she made sure we had everything we needed when we checked in. I recommend it!
