This apartment was as represented and perfect for our stay. The space was cosy, the bed very comfortable. We were only 2 of us, so did not need it, but the flat had a loft area above the bed, so a family travelling with kids could easily fit in this space.
At the end of Via Giulia at the Ponte Sisto bridge, we were perfectly situated to walk all over Rome--across the bridge right into Trastevere. There is a small grocery store right around the corner, so we were able to make our own breakfast and lunch, freeing our budget to enjoy some of the amazing restaurants in the neighborhood. You are 5 minutes walk from Campo dei (email hidden) place, and from there you can easily walk on to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and more! There was a laundry close by so we could take care of clothes washing half way through the trip lightening our packing load.
The lively scene on the Tiber meant that the night time could be loud, but we learned to use the air conditioning at night and then weren't bothered by the noise. Our host was gracious, greeting us and making sure we had all we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay at Marco's appartment in may 2014! The location was exceptional; across the bridge from Trastevere, and within walking distance to Rome's main attractions, without being in the thick of the tourists! Everything was as described in the appartment. Marco is a very nice and available man. He welcomed us warmly and was there at our departure as well. We did not need anything special during our stay but he was available if need be. We would recommend this appartment to friends and family. Thanks Marco!
We spent a week in this apartment. It was nice, clean, fully equipped and very comfortable. Quiet despite is near a main street. The noise of the cars is not a bother at all. The internet connection was good for our 4 devices (It was important for our two teens).
The very best of the apartment is the location, close to everywhere and near lots of restaurants. We went walking all the week to everywhere. In the afternoon we were taking a rest at the apartment and then out for dinner to Campo di Fiori or to Trastevere without having to think about because it was a very short and nice walk going there.
We didn’t meet Mario but the transfer from the airport was fine and punctual, so good that we booked (with the help of Mario) the way back to the airport with them.
I truly recommend this apartment.
The apartment is great! Very clean, functional and well equipped. It also feels homely with a nice view. The area is absolutely lovely, quiet but very central at the same time. You can walk around and go easily to the main sightseeings. Campo di Fiori and the Jewish Ghetto are fantastic places. The car sent by Marco was on time and a bit cheaper than a taxi. It was very convenient. Marco is very nice and helpful, for example when I locked us outside leaving the keys in! I will definitely recommend the place!
We spent a week in the apartment over New Year's and overall had a positive experience. The location was indeed great - walking distance to the main sightseeing and shopping areas and in a fascinating neighborhood. The apartment is pretty well equipped with all the amenities, even for cooking on the rare times when we didn't eat outside.
One thing to be clear is that the apartment is really best suited for a couple, perhaps with a small child in a cot. As a family of 4, we found that several of the amenities reached full capacity very quickly! The hot water was nice but only lasted for 2 quick showers in a row. The main bed was quite comfortable. The sleeping loft above it was a pretty big area but the ceiling was so low that even my 10-year old son hit his head standing up and my kids ended up sleeping on the sofas. The Wifi worked really well for 2 days before apparently we reached a limit on data downloads that we weren't aware of until later. So to be fair, these things probably would not be an issue for just a couple of guests.
Marco himself was a helpful and sympathetic host and quick to respond even at night.
We would recommend the apartment to a couple or individual wanting to take advantage of the location and amenities. We would consider to stay there again, though next time without the kids!
we just arrived back home from a 4 night stay at Marco's loft. it was our first airbnb experience and we have only positive things to say about the loft itself and Marco as a host. we were a couple with a thirteen month old baby. the place is designed in a really pleasing and aesthetic way. the kitchen is fully equipped which was crucial for us for the baby. the location is SUPERB, on the quaint pedestrian bridge between Trastevere and the old city, on the old city's side. we literally didn't take one taxi during our stay and just walked all over town. Marco was kind enough to arrange baby equipment for us through a rental company (cot and high chair) which we paid for and was waiting for us upon arrival. I would just add that there are about 10 steps up to the apartment. we walked with the stroller but you can leave it also on the ground floor. Marco recommended the restaurant Zi Umberto right across the bridge for authentic roman food and it was a major hit! thanks Marco.
I stayed in Marco's apartment for an entire month. It was totally perfect for me. It is an amazing location! Seriously, really cool spot. The apartment itself is cozy, clean and comfortable. Size wise… I would say its great for one person, a couple, or a couple with kids. I walked everywhere - its very central to all the sites. The neighborhood is truly wonderful. You are just steps away from Campo de Fiori and many, many great restaurants (Zoc is a great spot for fresh, unique food, just 2 blocks away). There are a number of beautiful places to visit within just blocks of home - Villa Farnesina is great… and the Jewish Ghetto area is very cool - Excellent tour at the close by synagogue. Marco was extremely helpful, responsive (email hidden). I highly recommend his apartment for your stay in Rome. Its wonderful. One note: The WiFi has a 10gb limit. Marco made this clear and it would have been more than enough. But, I forgot to turn off my automatic back up software on my laptop. After a few auto backups, I had burned though most of the 10gb limit. My fault… I recommend turning off your auto back up on your computer.
Overall… staying here made my month in Rome truly special and especially comfortable. Thanks Marco for a great experience!
Marco was extremely responsive. He answered all our queries (even though he was on holiday!) prior to us booking his place. We took him up on his offer of a private driver to pick us up at the airport and trust us, you want to do the same. The driver was there waiting for us when we arrived and he was a welcome sight after the many hours of traveling and delays. He also arranged transportation to my husband's convention venue at a discounted rate, which was very much appreciated.
About Marco's apartment: it was fantastic! It was clean and spacious. Our 4 year old ESPECIALLY loved the loft (ok to be honest, we did too). He had lots of fun in it. If you have kids and are thinking of renting Marco's place, do not forget to bring along little toy cars (like we did) so that your child can 'drive' them round and round the mats. The location was also amazing. It was just round the corner from Campo dei Fiori and we enjoyed going to the market for fresh fruits. There are loads of alleys to get lost in and it was fun to see what we'd discover at every turn. It was also within walking distance to Piazza Navona. Trust me when I say we walked everywhere as it was so convenient (that says a lot as we walked everywhere with our 4 year old!).
Throughout our stay, Marco was always contactable. On our final day, he even popped by just to say goodbye and to send my husband to Termini Station to collect our rental car and gave him tips about driving out of Rome.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Marco's. Grazie Marco!
