Wageningen is a small university city, with it's own theatre, cinema and lots of small bars. Just recently the alternative cinema house (Movie W) has moved just across the street! Lot's of less known, often english spoken or subtitled, culture films.
Wageningen is also near a forest and a river. Possibilities for nice walks, mountainbiking, skeelering, bicycle-roads and hiking nearby. It is close to Utrecht, Arnhem and Nijmegen (by car half an hour, by bus and or train one hour. Amsterdam can be reached by car in an hour, by bus and train within one and a half hour.
It is a non-smoking house. Keep room clean and take off your shoes before entering the living room.
We (4 people) stayed two nights in Francesco's flat (in two rooms). The flat is pretty much in the center of Wageningen with the pedestrian zone with many shops, cafes and bars really close by. However, the neighborhood is really calm. The flat was nice and clean but the fact that only one small bathroom exists requires some scheduling if you stay there with 4 people or more. Francesco was very kind and helpful.
Thanks again for hosting us, Francesco!
A very good place to stay, very close to the city centre. Spacious house and good rooms. Good value for money! Although we didn't get to meet Francesco, we felt very much welcome. There are 2 very friendly cats in the house. Since we are cat lovers, that was a nice addition. They did however give the house a bit of a 'cat-smell'.
W WAGHENINGEN !
Pulizia appena sufficiente
Nice spacious house, plenty of room and an excellent host Francesco.
It was a pleasure to cycle around in Wageningen with the bike Francesco borrowed us. The house is located in the center in a very quite road. Francesco is very helpfull and gave us a lot of tips for events which took part while we stayed in Wageningen. If we go one day again to Wageningen we know where we will stay!
large house, in very convenient location, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful garden and friendly bike. i had a very comfortable and friendly stay.

About the Host, Francesco
Hello! My name is Francesco Melita, I am a trainer and storyteller. I was born in Rome, Italy from a German mother and an Italian father. To make things even more complicated we moved to Holland when I was 13 years old. I studied in Holland agrarian sociology, married, got two beautiful daughters of 19 and 21 years old. My hobbies are: climbing, mountainbiking, karate and I keep trying to pick up meditation but my restless nature keeps me from sticking to it. I enjoy cooking Italian dinners, have a lot of friends come over and talk about god and the world. I believe humour is the salt that gives taste to our life and compassion and being there for each other is the actual dinner.
