Interaction with Guests
I send all information to guests prior to check in. Unless something is in need of immediate attention, we don't see each other……but I'm around if need be!
Funky neighborhood - close to downtown but has its own defining character. Two blocks to the biggest park in Savannah, some great coffee shops, a fantastic veg/vegan friendly restaurant, and a couple of fancy spots, too!
Catch a Cat -- the Chatham County transit option is nearby. There is also GDOT shuttle that scoots around downtown and is free.
Will send you our Busy Bee Vacations Rules and Regulations for agreement and signature before sending check in Info.
Keys are on site - we leave the lights on for you as well as a starter amount of coffee, paper towels, tp, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, and a sponge.
We can help you with special requests (catering, wine/cheese) for a fee.
The location is exactly as described. Easy check-in and check-out.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Savannah .
this cute quiet spot is just blocks from the park with plenty of on-street parking. the bed is VERY comfortable and there's central
air! we had a great stay there.
We loved our stay at the Roost- one of the best AirBNB stays we've had. Was great for a getaway to Savannah with an 8-month-old (you can eat delicious BBQ takeout on the front porch, from nearby Blowin' Smoke, and feel like you're still on vacation while the kid sleeps inside!) Comfy bed, nicely decorated, well-appointed kitchen, super clean & roomy, very comfortable and homey. The location is really great- we walked through Forsyth park at dawn every morning for coffee and scones at the Sentient Bean, and could easily walk to the squares, downtown, the riverfront, etc. If we lived in Savannah, we'd love to live in that area.
This little cottage in Savannah was absolutely perfect for our stay. Laurie was very accommodating, even when we asked her for a couple of last minute things. Since we were there for a week we made use of the kitchen and cooked a couple of meals. I would recommend this artist cottage to anyone looking to stay close to Savannah and have more space and a hotel room can offer.
Great location. Clean. Sunny. Kitchen has everything one would need including a glass blender and glass pyrex. Owner responded quickly to question.
Overall, The Roost provided a comfortable home away from home. The decor and ambience was fun and festive.
We never received the door code or rental agreement to sign so had to call last minute, not a big deal. The bed was extremely comfortable, a Tempurpedic, my dream! The bathroom tub hardly drained during a shower, we were told it is an ongoing problem.
The location was fair, wish it was closer to downtown but the upside is that we got plenty of exercise! There is free bus service around town and the walk to the closest pick up is approx 5 blocks away.
The front porch was a wonderful place to hang in the morning sipping coffee or in the evening, greeting passers by.
The back porch stairs are old and "soft", best to avoid walking in the middle of the tread! There was broken glass and bits of garbage in the small lawn out back, we did not allow our pup in this area after noticing this!
Thank you so much for your constructive criticism-- we have since snaked the tub. We advertise this home as being in the Victorian District which is very different than being "downtown-downtown" and lends a more boho feeling. We are a few blocks to Forsyth Park which is great for dog owners. Because of the nature of the back yard / stairs, we do not advertise it as even being on the property. We are sorry about that.

About the Host, Laurie
Laurie moved back to Georgia to begin work with the Georgia Historic Preservation Office in the tax incentives division and then at the Georgia Trust for Preservation, both in Atlanta. During this time, Laurie started spending countless weekends scouting homes with friends and family, Laurie quickly realized that she had a knack and passion for real estate & renovating homes and put her background in preservation to work while also pursuing a Masters in City & Regional Planning at Georgia Tech. After graduating from Tech, Laurie quickly found a niche in the Atlanta market working with Novare Group doing sales and marketing for four years where she held top sales awards.
In 2008 family and the coastal lifestyle beckoned and Laurie moved back to Savannah where she joined Keller Williams Realty as an Associate Broker. She quickly took up residence in the friendly Ardsley Park neighborhood & started volunteering with Historic Savannah Foundation & created a vacation rental business.
Laurie now has her own brokerage business and enjoys spending time outdoors, running with her dog, Tondee, and soaking up all that the Savannah lifestyle has to offer.
