Birkenstrasse is a vibrant and lively street with bars, cafes and shops. It is one of the oldest streets in the district and dates back to 1823. The name originates from the birch trees that give the street a distinct feel. We decided that this is the perfect place to share the local Berliner experience.
The building originates from 1904 and many of the original features have been refurbished. The flats offer high ceilings, parquet floor, double glassed windows, stucco and a distinct feel. This was combined with modern amenities in bathrooms and new designer bathrooms.
Experience Berlin like a local, live in a 20th century flat in a quiet but central street in one of Berlin's oldest districts.
Surrounded by bars, cafes and restaurants with the underground in front of the building.
Tube station directly in front of the building. 3 stops from Zoo Station.
S-Bahn about 5min walk.
Apartment was large and airy. Simply furnished, but clean. OK area, several restaurants outside as well as the metro on the front door. Picked up the key from downstairs restaurant which serves whopping portions btw.
The appartment is located in the north west of Berlin. Surrounded by cafés, a big supermarket and a bakery. A beautiful ensuite appartment, full of light and good beds. The bathroom is small but nice and a good shower. Everything was perfect. Six persons is suitable. I recommend this place
We didn't meet Marlene, the key was left in the restaurant bar downstairs ; the neighbourhood was a fantastic location close to the centre, but with it's own laid back feel to it. We used both the restaurants nearby and loved the food . The little grocers shop next door to the flat had some lovely hummus and bread for lunch too
Great apartment! Beds were comfortable. Lots of space. Balcony was a nice touch and the bathroom was very nice. Check in and check out was incredibly easy and quick and the apartment being so close to the subway stop made getting to where we needed to be easy
We got via email a lot of useful information from Marleen how to check in and what to do.
The spacious apartment is situated on the second floor (no lift) and renovated in style. Furniture and facilities are more basic ( most Ikea). With the high ceilings and trees around you do not really miss an airco with temperatures of 36 degrees in Berlin.
The location is nice. There are restaurants, bars en shops around. The U bahn entrance is nextdoor. And last but not least: public parking is free!
During our stay there was suddenly a leakage in the bathroom. After a call to Marleen it was fixed within an hour. Nice service!
All together we had a great stay with our 2 grandchildren in this comfortable apartment.
Achtung Marlen schreibt auf Englisch zurück was anfangs etwas verwirrte...
4 von 5 sternen...:)
