The Space

Huge room with sunlight window in beautiful apartment with bikes!
The room is located in Manhattan, at St Nicholas and 159th St., in a beautiful 4 bedroom apartment. It is a very bright apartment, spacious and super cozy at the same time. I have two roommates who are very friendly, respectful and relaxed. The house is big and your room is in the rear so it is private and away from common area.

The bathroom is shared, but only with two people.

There is a super market two blocks from our building as well as wine stores, liqueur stores, delis and a National Historical site called the Morris Jumel Mansion. Amsterdam and Broadway are full of restaurants and basically anything else you might need.

There are two parks nearby, Riverside park and the Greenway which allows you to bike all the way to the Southern and Northern end of Manhattan, and the Edgecombe park behind the Morris Jumel Mansion.

Subway (C train) conveniently located one block away, takes you directly downtown or midtown. Also, the 1 train is three blocks away.
PERK: 2 street bikes in perfect condition with locks included in the price for you to explore NYC in the most convenient way!

  • Un superbe appartement et une très très sympa colocataire qui nous a accueilli comme il se devait malgré un petit retard. Grand appartement, hyper clean , des colocs aux vies intéressantes qui aiment partager même si on reste peu de temps. Lydia est un amour !

  • I had a fabulous experience staying with Lydia and her roommates. The room was comfortable, with a nice chair to relax after a long day and a desk to keep my luggage. The train station is only a few blocks away making her place very accessible to New York's legendary transit. I was in walking distance from my events Columbia Medical campus. The roommates were very welcoming and made me feel at home. The shared bathroom was clean and unoccupied whenever I needed it. Lydia welcomed me to New York with a detailed email about how to get to her place using public transit (very easy) and a list of things I might want to do based on my interests. I was thoroughly impressed by my stay here!

New York City Ballet- Tutu Maker
I love traveling and really enjoy having travelers in my home. It makes me really happy to be able to help you discover new york, or hear your perspective on the city. Helen Keller said, " Life is either a daring adventure, or noting at all." I always think of this when faced with a decision and try to pick the adventure instead of the fear of adventure.. I love my life, living in NYC, dancing, meeting friends, wandering around, cooking, or riding my bike! I think that learning a new language is the only way to really understand another group of people and I wish I had time to learn 10 more. I grew up in Ohio and Wisconsin, have lived in Boston, New York, Bologna, Siracusa, Padova, and Vermont. I love flea markets with endless rows of old and crazy finds and exploring new york for new and old things. Currently I work in the costume shop of the New York City Ballet developing my skills as a "tutu specialist." =)
