My family and I spent our vacation on the North Shore and stayed at Meg's Modern Hawaii home and it was perfect. We have 2 boys that are avid action sports fans so the half pipe in the yard and proximity to the ocean was perfect. We loved being able to live like a local in the Oahu country. The house was perfect for us and very well equipped. It made our vacation that much better to be able to go to the grocery store and have at least one home cooked meal a day. I would absolutely recommend this house for your next vacation.
A wonderful place to stay, a home away from home. Perfect house for our 3 & 1yo. A good location, a little far a way and we got unlucky with road works (up to 15min wait) but that didn't dampen our trip at all. So many yummy food trucks so close as well!!
They also rent the upstairs of their house and unfortunately we got two noisy and inconsiderate neighbours during our stay which made it hard to get the kids to sleep some nights.
Over all a wonderful place, good location away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and amazing food trucks.
Thank you meg and your family for opening your home to us.
This is our first Airbnb experience and glad we choose this beautiful home for our vacation. We stayed in Honolulu at a hotel before we checked into this house for about 8 days. Our family had a fantastic time at Meg's house. This house was just perfect for our family of 4 and we could have definitely accommodated one more family. Meg had everything available in the house and we felt being at the comfort of our home. We cooked some meals and it was very nice to have home cooked meal once in a while. There is a grocery store just a couple of blocks from the house and also few restaurants. Beach is right across the the street. The house sits on a quiet neighborhood with beautiful mountain back drop. Our boys had a blast at the house. The kids room is perfect with tons of toys to keep them busy. The yard outside has a quarter pipe for skating. My older boy was very upset he didn't get his skate board with him to the trip. But both my boys enjoyed just running up and down on the pipe. They also had lots of children's books that we were able to read for bed time stories. They have washer & dryer inside the house which was a life saver. We traveled everyday to one of the beaches along the North Shore and stopped by Shrimp trucks to get dinner. Of all the beaches we visited, we enjoyed Kokololio beach, only a few minutes away from this house. Polynesian center is also a few minutes away. It was a great experience for our family. They have a market place and with lots of food options available. We didn't know that until the last day of our trip even though we drove past that market place everyday. This place is best for anyone who has to work from remote for a few hours because of the perfect office space.
Overall, it was a perfect vacation for our family made possible only by this beautiful house.
Meg's house was very beautiful and clean.
Walking distance from the beach and quiet.
She made everything perfect for my trip!
I will defenatly come back!!!
We enjoyed our stay. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and more! We loved the design of the house and the convenient location to North Shore. There are some beautiful hiking trails very close to this house on homestead. We will book again if we are in Oahu. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and relatives.
This was a wonderful first experience on Airbnb. Meg was incredibly accommodating, and they have just about the perfect place that you could want to stay at in Hauula. We were honestly spoiled by their place.
Their surfboards are great for beginners and in wonderful shape. Same goes for their boogie boards and goggles and fins. It made it so easy for us to surf just a little bit north, to boogie board nearby, and to go snorkeling in Sharks Cove.
Their place is especially nice because it feels and is lived in. There are plenty of spices available if you want to cook your own meals, plenty of towels and blankets, and a solid selection of movies for the end of the day.
All of my interactions with Meg were incredibly pleasant, and I'm really happy we had the opportunity to stay in their place.
Meg's house is absolutely perfect. I stayed with just my boyfriend, but it would be great for a family. There's tons of space, all decorated in a clean, modern, beachy feel. You're close to everything you'd ever need, while still being secluded. Meg knew we were staying there for my thirtieth birthday and left the sweetest birthday card and little Hawaiian snacks for us. We had such a lovely, wonderful time. I'd highly recommend Meg's apartment to anyone!

About the Host, Meg
I grew up in the mountains of Park City and now live by the ocean in Hawaii! I love my life here on this tiny island with my husband and two kids. We love to skate, surf, snowboard, hike, and spend time as a family. We also love to travel and see different parts of the world, by renting out our house here in Hawaii this becomes possible.
