About this listing
Cheery, cozy room and bathroom in a one-story condo in the Lakes of Tempe. Beautiful, lush, safe neighborhood near great restaurants, bookstore, shopping, private clubhouse and the major freeways.
This is a creative, cozy, quiet room in my condo in Central/South Tempe. You'll have your own private room and bathroom- both are peaceful, clean and cozy. The room has french doors onto an enclosed patio and is a dedicated guest room. The whole unit is single story and if you're driving, you'll get your own assigned parking space.
My boyfriend Travis and I have a very sweet black lab who'll want to be your best friend and we've semi-adopted a stray cat who mostly lives outdoors but we do let inside sometimes. He's sweet and well- behaved and we don't let him in the guest room. You're welcome to use the kitchen, fridge, wi-fi, Blu-ray player, Netflix streaming & community clubhouse. The clubhouse has a lap pool that overlooks the lake, spa, sauna, game room, and small gym. The community is lush with tall, old trees and man-made lakes and a lovely stream- great for walking/running.
You are within walking distance of 2 neighborhood restaurants/bars, and less than one mile from Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Target, Changing Hands (an awesome independent bookstore), local coffee shops and more.
About 5 miles south of ASU and Mill Ave and very close to the US-60 and 101 freeways. There are several bus stops less than 1/2 mile away with routes that can take you all over the valley and connect easily to our light rail system as well. I'm about 15 minutes from Sky Harbor Airport and downtown Phoenix.
Feel free to use the kitchen, fridge, washer/dryer, your private room and bathroom (bathroom is across the hall from your room), couch and TV with netflix streaming, and wi-fi. I can also get you a guest pass to my community's clubhouse which as a lap pool, sauna, jacuzzi, game room and gym.
Interaction with Guests
I will be home during your stay, except for when I'm working or out of the house.
The Lakes of Tempe is a beautiful neighborhood with man made lakes, lush mature trees and greenery, and is very safe- everyone waves at each other and I know most of my neighbors. We have a private clubhouse, which you're welcome to use, with an outdoor lap pool overlooking the lake, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, game room, tennis courts, sand volleyball, and more. I love that all of the major intersections nearest me have great shopping, including my favorite independent bookstore, Changing Hands, and some great restaurants.
In Phoenix we have a bus system, and I have several stops between 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. It's very convenient to go from my house to ASU via bus, and that route also connects to our light rail system which runs through downtown Phoenix, to and from the airport, and around the valley. I do have an assigned parking spot you can use if you're driving and it's very near my door.
Other Things to Note
As of Feb. 2014 I now have a real queen-sized mattress in the guest room, as opposed to the air mattress I had before.
When booking please let me know about when you'll plan on checking in and out. I'll do my best to be flexible and can usually accommodate different times, but my standard check-in is 4pm or later, and check-out by 11 am.
You are welcome to use the kitchen- just please provide your own food and clean up after yourself. You're welcome to get your water from the Brita filter and help yourself to the coffee and tea. If you're cooking make yourself at home- feel free to rummage around the kitchen to find cups, pots, etc.
I do have a washer and dryer and laundry soap which you're welcome to use.
Please no smoking in the house or right outside the door/on the patio- I'm sensitive to cigarette smoke.
Also, it'd be great if you're dog friendly. =)
If you damage or break anything, the cost of replacement will be deducted from your deposit.
Please no guests, besides those who are registered to stay here.
