Great location and excellent, friendly hosts! Very close to the Q line and market for a quick snack. Definitely would recommend, we were very, very pleased with our stay.
This basement apartment met our needs while my mother and I visited my son in Brooklyn for a week. It's on a neighborhood street, and was very quiet. We did not meet Joan; her husband Fred met us to show us around the apartment. Fred was flexible with our arrival time.
Having a private exterior entrance was a big plus. We could come and go without disturbing anyone. There were plenty of towels and extra sheets for the week. My mother liked having a private bedroom. I slept on the futon, which wasn't too bad.
My mother found it extremely difficult to get up and down the stairs to the apartment entrance. The stair treads are short and steep. Luckily there aren't many of them. Also, the ceilings are very low, probably 6 and a 1/2 feet, and the shower was tiny. My mother and I are short so this wasn't a problem for us.
I would stay here again. It was an excellent value for the price.
Great communication and wonderful hosts! Fred met us as we arrived in our taxi late in the evening and showed us around the flat. The property description was accurate and they keep it clean! It is a quiet and safe Brooklyn neighborhood. He also surprised us by picking up some (organic) grocery items to get us started! My wife and I are first time airbnb guests, but I'm guessing few do a better job of hosting. We will be back!
We had a great time staying at this apartment. Fred stayed up to meet our late arrival and showed us around. The apartment was clean and surprisingly quiet. Perfect for our stay. Would come back and stay again.
we can only recommend Frederic & Joan are lovely people, we have not seen much Joan, but Frederic was for us such a considerate and protective person who, for our first trip to the USA was a major importance we are so grateful to him. We wish good luck and will certainly return home to our next visit to the USA.
Fred met us when we arrived, helped us with our bags and gave us a brief tour of the apartment providing information on useful details including security issues, Wi-Fi password and more. He had also turned on the heat ahead of our arrival. It was cold outside for all of our stay but the apartment was always comfortable. Breakfast supplies were also provided, which was very useful, particularly on the first morning after our arrival. The listing was accurate thought I would stress it is a basement apartment with a relatively low ceiling. I am not tall but my hands would hit the ceiling in the bedroom most times I was putting on my jacket or coat.
The neighbourhood was safe and for us it was very convenient as it was 10 to 15 minute walk to two subway stations and a 3 minute walk from my wife's mother home.
This was our first Airbnb rental and it was a positive experience.
This was very nice and clean place to stay. The hosts, Joan and Fred, were very nice and friendly. They even provided coffe, orange juice, and oatmeal for our breakfast. That was unexpected. The place was warm and wifi was fast. I would stay again.
